Being aggressive in enemy jungle is somewhat awkward with him due to not having any mobility skills. It seems that Lee Sin outclasses in him pretty much every single way. Much easier to be aggro early duo to a defensive jump, that also allows for easier counterganks and ganks pre-6, later on I'd much rather have a Lee Sin Insec initiate than Panth jump. It can have some use for splitpushing but because of the delay on jump it's not that practical either.

I feel like wards should have a global limit like the sightstone.

Like normal wards (green/pink) can only be placed up to a limit of 5 per team (+ sightstone + wriggles wards) to prevent mass ward spam and bring a little more diversity to games.

So, it would convert to like 1/2 bot, 1 mid, 1 top, 1/2 spare.

If someone places a ward after 5, it acts like sightstones do, the first disappears.

Thoughts? Im too tired to actually type out my thoughts on WHY i think its a good idea but i like it (4:30am T.T)

The proposed idea is naturally pretty silly (Lee Sin did a sick play, good thing we have no vision over baron now) etc. As for limiting it in a more reasonable way, like DotA does, I don't see the need. It's not like lack of wards leads to cool prediction or mindgames, more like glorified guesswork.

It would never happen because of griefing potential: "X bought wards and spammed them to erase mine everytime I tried to ward my lane, tribunal ban him pls".

Actually creates some cool mindgames but that's also a function of the bigger map. Small map kind of removes all those cool options.

edit: What's up with league people and their obsession with griefing potential.

I feel like limiting wards is the only realistic way of letting supports actually by real items. Vision is just that strong.

It would likely also make watching pro games a lot more entertaining.

I really hope riot makes this happen at some point, but I'm not very hopeful. There would likely be a massive outcry from players that they can't ward all gank paths.

No, Sight Wards are limited, Vision Wards are unlimited but have 1 vision range so they need to be paired with vision of some form to be useful (DotA uses BW/WC3/SC2 vision mechanics where detection range can use the shared vision from other units).

Yes sentries(Vision wards) are unlimited. They cost a bit more(50g) and don't give any vision.

You got Sight and Vision Wards screwed up. Sight = no detection, Vision = detection.

It's not so much prediction/mindgames more than it simply enables map movement to pay off at times where with current vision mechanics it's simply not practical to do so given that the enemy is likely to have vision anyway. In particular it enables the jungler to gank at different times through more routes, while also enabling laners better aggressive options between lanes without necessarily being seen along the way (in particular, it increases the probability of success of a support roaming, or, say, a 1v2 laner ditching the lane to gank mid and get FB).

Of course, without TPs being in the game, this is actually a pretty iffy proposal, because, say, if the enemy mid leaves, and the map is dark, you can't follow him, but you also can't TP-countergank like you could in DotA.

I guess you could compensate with Clairvoyance but then I don't really think the change would accomplish much. It's not like ganking is unviable, even later on in the game, "pulling a bronze" (also known as "pulling the Fnatic"), waiting in a random lane brush until the enemy pushes and then instakill them works as well as always.

They could go with a per-person (not global) ward limit of 2-5. Then supports could buy items, and i could legitimately shout at the fools who are not warding, ever "because i am not the the support!!!"

Though i fell like that would be pretty limiting to the game, it might also open new options. Now you either have really limited vision, or people who are not the support also need to be warding, even lategame.

That would definitely help supports get some items. I can imagine item slots getting especially annoying late game, but it is a fine idea nonetheless.
