My early submission would be Alistar. Master Yi? Most mana users would run out of mana or not use as many spells as no energy champs. Yi probably heals more than he deals damage so both sides could pretty much just clear waves over and over.
I was thinking also about what champions would be fun to watch play. Besides Riven I think Kennen, Zed, and Ezreal leave room for outplays, as well as lots of escapes and kill potential. Not many players main Zed or Kennen though.

The math might be somewhat in regens favor, but in practice, not having the armor means you lose on trades and can't commit as well the the opponent, meaning that it is very easy for you to say, take an extra auto. It was interesting that there were so many different build paths that people used. GL. I watched you play today so now you're famous.

Anyway I guess you want all AD runes for the early game, Harrier base dmg is kind of bad early on. APen is much better later though... If you start with an AD item like a Doran Blade and Longsword and have AD Quints, then APen becomes a lot better because it helps with Harrier's bad early base damage. They also have a better cost-efficiency than rejuv beads in comparison to cloth. 291.5 gold value vs 255,6 MVPimp / CptJack run 2 lifesteal quints and 1 armor pen quint, on every AD they play. Pretty sure every single person who plays adc and can afford them plays with lifesteal lol.
Yup. You might get more damage out of AD or Armpen quints but lifesteal quints give you lane sustain and 4-6% lifesteal scales way better later into the game than 4-6 AD or 5-7 Armpen. Especially since lifesteal became a harder stat to get in S3 and even more especially if you want to IE rush on like Cait/Ashe/Trist/etc. Also since everyone in bot lane runs barrier or cleanse trying to go for really early game all-ins are unreliable.
For solo lane you might be better off with full Armpen or AD though.

Isn't the best answer to this obviously Lee Sin?
Best Blind Monk mechanics wins. =P
Alternative "Best Contests" I'd like to see would be Best Smite. Two people with Smite fight Dragon or Baron, the one who gets the buff wins.
+ Show Spoiler +Whoever wins, Saintvicious loses.

Lee sin would be a fun tournament.

My early submission would be Alistar. Probably shen vs shen. Just mashing q and w while smacking each other all day.

Nunu vs nunu would be equally silly as shen vs shen.

Lee Sin is the opposite of the answer. Lee Sin is obviously #1 most exciting. Or Draven, hue.

Should just be draft pick in the future, not just mirrors. I understand the purpose of mirrors for this particular event, but there's not really a need for it in the future.
The only problem is that in a draft pick format, second pick always has an advantage because of how big counterpicking is in isolated 1v1. So for the final game in a BoX, you can't use draft pick.

The Leaguepedia guys already confirmed they're going to run a 1v1 RIven on EU, and then more 1v1 "champion" tourneys in the future though, so get used to it.
Anyhow, I think a ton of AP mid matchups would be amazing 1v1's, I really don't feel like listing all of them.
I'd also kill to see a 1v1 lane Shaco matchup.

1v1 tournaments should use a format like in BTS' fistful of tangoes 1v1 tourney with pre arranged matches going both ways and then a mirror with skill based stuff and vetoes, seems like the best system for 1v1s.

No heimerdinger mention for 1v1 matchup? #Dongermechanics

Lets start a 1v1 heimer tournament. Maybe make it an amateur tournament and the winner wins something from QTpi

I like what Wickd and Soaz did for their All-Star 1v1. 3 bans and blind pick. Maybe limit the champion pool in a tournament in some way. Kinda coinflippy though depending on the size of the champ pool.

God, Solo lane Janna is so hilarious. Once you get a certain amount of AP pushing is so easy.

there used to be a few formats for dota 1v1
1. pick a hero at the point of registration -> use that all the way 2. pick 3 heroes to form your pool -> use one of those 3 blind every time 3. draft pick, 3 bans per side (way more suitable for bo3) 4. mirror

The first two have the potential to be quite luck based just lucking into bad matchups. Some combination of the 3rd and 4th are probably the most fair, with mirrors being used to address the imbalance of 2nd pick in 1v1 draft pick.
