Dring start doesn't sound to terrible on him, perhaps chalice or morellomnicon start? I feel with his q, should try and abuse his trading power. And early cdr and mana helps a lot with that

The DRing doesn't really give him enough mp5 to spam Q enough to trade through their sustain. Especially if they're starting >3 potions. It wears you down really fast. Viktor is still good mid game, but it's just so hard to take advantage of his strengths early.
It feels bad, but it's hard to convince myself to play him when I can easily play Annie, have no mana issues, and have on demand stuns. Plus she's fucking adorable.

Start: D-Blade
First back: Avarice blade + boots
Mid: Botrk + Statikk (For that mid-game omph)
End: Inifinity edge + w/e you floats your boat
EDIT: Forgot to mention you need to be leveling farmshot in order to synergize with the yellow numbers.

I usually run flash + barrier.
barrier + botrk means you can win some fights when people come down to interrupt your farm session at bottom.
I try to delay the upgrade into statikk as much as possible, but the mid game lightning crits are too tasty.
farmshot + riceblade mean you farm rice really really fast. Even if you 'lose' a lane. The CS number doesn't show the extra 8 gold you get per cs. (Also works on wards)

9x AD Red and 2x AD Quints
1x Crit quint (don't ask, probably 8AD+1 crit and 3 ADquints is better, but I'm missing an AD quint)
flat armor yellows and MR blues.
I'd like to think of this build as a way to break a stalemate or secure the lead.
If you are behind this may not be the best build if you don't think you can utilize your riceblade + farmshot combo

Yeah it works ok, just dont try anything fancy bot.
Very frustrating to spend alot of time farming up and then have some assasin get fed top or mid and your team not understand any peeling concepts and just lose instantly though. If your team does decently though Ashe is a great game closer. I'm just awful at playing AD in lane so I do stuff like that if I can get away with it sometimes.
If you can play AD its better to just play something with some escape if you are playing with rand pubs IMO.

I agree with you I'm not going to dub Ashe the new OP, but if you have a strong support with a disable (lux, taric, nami) you can force the opponents to play passive and wait for a gank.
I haven't run into a real kill lane yet, but i'll tell you how it goes when I do run into one. Most people at my current rating are not really versed in any bot lane positioning other than 1) Farm or 2) All-In
