In Season 2 we had this "strict" meta of 1 top (bruiser) 1 mid (AP) 2 bot (support + ADC) and 1 jungle. Nowadays, however, we can see from the competitive scene that this is pretty much bogus now. The SKTT1 vs CJ Frost game Reapered (supposedly top laner) was mid, SuNo (mid laner) was bot, and their adc + support was top. Similarly, Dignitas has throwing scarra bot for a couple of games already (notably the game vs Marn which Dignitas's duo mid lane destroyed Marn's Kassadin mid). Furthermore, many so-called mid-laners and top-laners play the same champions (e.g. Jayce, Khazix, Vlad). I feel that the term "mid laner" and "top laner" should be changed, because being categorized in one class no longer imply you play the game primarily in a certain lane nor play a certain set of champions. It's probably better off just to call them solo laner #1 and #2, or perhaps a "main" and "off" solo laner, based on which of the solo laners will be taking the blue buff and/or prefers to go 1v2. I completely agree with that. I would even go so far and say that the solo lanes have become indistinguishable. The only reason we clink to these categories is because the players have a history of either playing bruisers top or APs mid. So sololaners as a general category should be better. It also is becoming irritating for the casters I think because they start by calling someone top and mid, to then have to explain why mid is bot or top is bot and so on. I actually like the way the current strategies are going. Especially the fact that teams are loosing their "fear" to switch up positions in order to get an advantage. Should also make the draft more interesting because teams will be forced to not only consider the matchup in their own lane but also how lane swap will affect their composition. Since Riot doesn't like strategic drafting though they might try to curb this development, although I don't really see how they would want to do this. | ||

Maybe if I were playing Nasus top and had been sitting on a philo stone all game. But probably not. | ||

What I feel about this item is that it's simply situational. 2.5 seconds is basically two tower shots, and it resets the cummulated damage from consecutive tower shots, but you can also get better at tanking towers by building health/armor, and those statistics work even if you are not tanky turrets. If in addition, it makes allies towers have 200% damage, I think it will be a lot stronger. | ||
