I believe it. Took me a few games to move up a division, and then I suddenly started skipping tiers as I climbed my league.
I'm not even sure how you carry out of bronze if teammates don't listen to you at all. Luck is a huge element at that level.

well, it's not that, it's just the sheer quantity of games. even 10 games is a lot of raw time to basically be playing vs bots and it takes a lot more than that to make enough of an elo difference that you can actually get something for your trouble.

I'm convinced that the Tribunal is a garbage system. If you have ever been banned once all it takes is a couple of reports to get banned; see Destiny, Entenzwerg.
Ente as some of us know gets targeted by douchebags in high elo who don't like him for some reason and gets banned for doing absolutely nothing. Destiny's first two bans he was out of line for sure but his most recent 2 week ban he got literally 3 reports lol

Not on Live, but on PBE they're testing a system where you're prevented from using the chat according to some criteria. I guess they're fine tuning it and testing if they can somehow use that to stop people just coming back from a ban to start flaming again.

Clearly the system is broken. Or you're full of shit. You don't end up in the tribunal because you were a dick in just 1 game.
I agree Destiny is an asshole a lot of the time. It's part of the reason why he's entertaining. A lot of people are assholes a lot of the time, but when they get punished for it they immediately adopt the role of victim, like there's been a mistake, because they don't want to accept that they're toxic. I've yet to even get a warning, and I KNOW I've been an asshole in a couple games, which I'd say means the system works. You don't usually even end up in the tribunal unless you've been consistently toxic.
There was a thread on leagueoflegends.com a while back where an endless stream of people came and complained about their bans. They all appeared completely surprised about their punishment, completely convinced a mistake had been made, until someone from Riot actually went into the thread and showed them their histories. Needless to say it soon became very clear that each and every one of them deserved their bans.

I was one game from getting to platinum. AKA I was in gold 1 and had 2 wins in my promotion series.
I legitimately tried my hardest but I've lost like 30 games over the last week and won maybe 4. Right now I am gold5 0lp. If I lose I'm in silver... from ~1750 effective ELO to ~1400
I don't know what's wrong. I feel like I'm doing well consistently, but going 4-30 means it HAS to be me. I wish I could submit replays or something to get some advice. I'm incredibly frustrated and want someone to give me a reason why.

you won't drop tiers ( gold>silver) unless you stop playing for a whole month or two and while I know lossstreaks myself 4-30 is really huge, like my biggest lossstream is 10 games (full matchhistory) which usually balances out with a good winstreak a few days later.

If i recall correctly, they did and/or are doing something with replays on the PBE. There was also this survey regarding replays in LoL some time ago that asked you if you would download a replay of they game you just played.
