It doesn't put you that far ahead for too long, so while you don't have a real advantage, runes that give real stats are better. It was more useful when it allowed for certain leveling breakpoints on junglers when camp XP was fixed, but that's harder to plan around with variable camp XP now.

From what I've seen he pretty fast, but is he like... viable? Someone played it against me in ranked, did pretty well, so I tried it out in a couple normals. I dunno how I feel, pretty fast, decent ganks if you can close the gap. Felt like I didn't really apply any map pressure, but Q got so big so easily. Kind of mitigates his horrible early laning, and even if you behind gold it not that unreasonable to have 200+ damage on your Q at the twenty minute mark. Not unreasonable to have a big jungling item, boots 2 and a locket either, which is pretty damn good imo. Have you guys seen it? What you think?

Welcome to TL ![]() But seriously, TROLLS and Monte in particular have been using it for some time to a lot of success, and it was just in LCS.

It was more useful when it allowed for certain leveling breakpoints on junglers when camp XP was fixed, but that's harder to plan around with variable camp XP now. There's also the fact that junglers are now much more active outside the jungle, and at different times. When junglers used EXP runes they weren't really expected to leave the jungle until they were at least level 4-5 with double buffs, unless they were Shaco. Now all those refined experience calculations would be bunk even with fixed EXP because you're going to run into lanes and leech some anyway. EXP runes were also occasionally used for solo lane matchups where the first champion to hit level 6 could abruptly win using a flash ultimate, or eke out an advantage by threatening that. That's still a potential use, but as you say you're trading real stats (and one typically hard to find on items like Movement Speed, Spell Vamp and the like) for a temporary advantage. If you mess up at level 6 your runes are now basically useless. On February 24 2013 04:19 iCanada wrote: Anyone really experimented with Jungle Nasus? It's practically been the sole topic of discussion in the Nasus thread for the past two weeks. It's entirely viable, and practically guarantees your team victory if they can survive without you for the first 5 minutes of the game. Even if your presence is required in the lanes you can still farm Q as well as a solo lane and just build tanky. It also happens to be a strong counter to Xin Zhao, Hecarim, and Vi. Wither really, really screws them over hard.

Spirit of the anicent golem + swiftness basically makes you unkiteable and w allows you to stick on anyone forever with 40%. Pretty sweet although obviously has weaknesses still if there is enough kiting potential (kockbacks/ups are often really bad for him). I've still done well even being counterjungled by some gold vi for 10 mins (and i suck), but I know strong counterjungling + strong enemy laners can really screw nasus's team over big and win the game before he ever gets close to strong.
