Also why do I gain 20 points for wins and lose 10?Is it supposed to be like that?I am fp almost always if that matters.

The system detects that even 5 wins you're nowhere close to getting into the league's normal bracket, and bumps you down. Not that counterintuitive. Well then why would you get placed into a 1450-1550 league in the first place if you were 1200 before hand?

I think the system tried to fill in all the divisions with as close to the max (50 people each) as possible, so some people are in divisions they don't belong in. Using the average rating of current elo and top elo could be a problem, also. If you got really streaky and got to 1800 top elo while your current elo was 1400, you would've been placed higher than where you should be.

The scenario doesn't describe a player who started out as 1200, but started in that Elo bracket (possibly thanks to lucky placements or getting there via a lucky streak with accelerated Elo, and then slowly sliding back down. It's possible that he might reach 1200 Elo before direct demotion due to a long loss streak kicks him out immediately (possibly because he's winning games occasionally but losing more than he wins), at which point the system as mentioned kicks in.

IMO this phenomenon (feeding support players in solo queue) is one of the reasons that it is possible (and recently, for me at least, not that hard) to increase your own ELO by playing support. So many people are absolutely awful and get forced there by their team, if you are actually willing and good at it you provide a HUGE edge to your team. Between that and having the free mental energy to watch the map most of the time, ping, time objectives, ward key spots (even play-making spots like warding their blue shortly before it comes up) I think playing support can certainly raise ELO effectively.

Too bad playing support depends on your ad not being brain dead though.

I have taken a lot of terrible AD's and made laning go even by saving them, convincing them to b when they're about to get killed, etc. That's still going to help win a lot of games, even if it doesn't feel as good as stomping a lane.

It'd be a bit more punishing towards people who pay others to play for them then or who duoqueue with a smurf.
