How does everyone feel about garen right now? he's stupid strong right?
won lane 8/8 games with him and usually end with some ridiculous K/D. He's just OP. Still a 50% w/l ratio thanks to others xD
Reallly love him after the start of S3. He was one of the first champs i bought a skin for and i always saw it as a complete waste, now sanguine garen going #yolo
Also - Udyr in the new jungle? havent played since mid S2. Viable?

Nien is an absolute beast so that doesn't surprise me, dude is just ridiculous. I was glad to see him picked up by Team MRN as their second sub, dude definitely deserves it.

I feel like Garen just catches most top laners off-guard with how much damage he actually does early game, and he can push really fast with spin, the only reason he doesn't see much play at the higher levels is because of mobility creep and not having a gap-closer.

garen is noobstomp only
send him mid for better results

Garen is okay. He gets a shit ton of free resists. Late game can be kind of hassle though.
Nien is really good at farming.

The best thing is his ult, they sit there fighting you because "hell ima win this shit, 20% more HP!" - Ignite ult, bb.

Every time I've seen a jarvan they've completely dominated. Ganks with your E and your ult are insanely hard to get away from if you don't have a flash. TBH I think Xin is worse. You can literally build zero damage items and still easily kill people from his absurd base damage and built in CDR. Yeah true, seeing Xin every game now :/ you can actually do the same with jax with cdr but for some reason nobody ever does it they just go full retard with all damage items and still do okay because jax with E and R can still survive decently. xin has more cc though, granted, and better engage, but jax has even better base damages and a better/more reliable tank steriod thing about xin tho, is once you hit cdr cap, you blink all around the place almost like kat in teamfights, and with iceborne gauntlet, you provide pretty substantial utility in addition to everything else that xin offers. In terms of raw dps, it wouldn't surprise me that jax > xin, but I feel like xin's is just so much more reliable, given that he sticks to people like glue. In almost every given situation, you can get your job done as xin, but I don't think you can say the same for jax. imo, xin is really strong, and i'm actually surprised he hasn't seen significant face time in pro games. I think gauntlet really tipped him over the edge.
I don't see how Xin and Jax are evenly remotely similar in the context of this discussion. The way people build and play them are completely different. I also don't see why iceborne is any good on him, as far as I know, that isn't a common part of anybody's Xin build.

I have to agree with this, and to give some additional views as to why, Icebourn Gauntlet just seems so redundant with your E, which is up really frequently.

Misaya mini-documentary for Chinese New Year. Might translate some/paraphrase later, but figured I'd link this now for people to take a look at (maybe someone less lazy than me will give quick impressions).

To me it feels like Garen is really strong against pretty much everyone, and chances of losing your lane horribly are really low. So if you lose, it's usually due to teamfights (or your team being bad).
Although I just lost a game as Garen against Akali, so what do I know. xD

I think the only solo lane where garen will 100% lose is teemo(fuck that badger). Every other lane I think at the bare minimum is survivable.
TBH I think in terms of teamfighting, I'd just get BC, full tank and call it a day if I Q spin on like 3 people, nuke one bruiser with ulti once he gets to like 30% and my team wins the fight. Garen can absorb more punishment than any champ in the game except maybe ali&rammus so if you absorb everything with your face, it's all good.

Every single game that I see garen do well in lane he tends to just be a beast all game.
Defensive tree changes, with tenacity and slow reduction REALLY helped him alot with his mobility problems.
Mostly the only times that I see garens do bad is when they lose lane and get denied farm.
This from my own experience at around 2kish elo.
Also, Ezreal still broken soloq, BT->statikk->to ie and just kite tanks and wreck squishies 1v1

I went 8 and 0 with garen to get to silver 1 and then I started have problems keeping games from getting out of hand. Most of the time even just surviving is fine but the other top laner gets the same cs or more because they can freeze.
But other than that just build BC into Warmogs + Atmas and laugh as the other team just bounces off you while you 100-0 their carries with just e.

paging dr slayer, post about BC on garen.

Buy Sword of the Divine on Garen for glorious crit spin.

its bad and you should feel bad (until lategame) (helping your ad out like a bro)
garens ridiculously strong you just go uber tanky with maybe a brutalizer and/or lw in there if necessary and you cant be killed, pretty sick.
Udyr probably sucks now at least in the jungle they nerfed everything that made him good (trinity reverted)
-aoe clearing because now the big creep is too tanky you need at least madreds -being able to start boots comfortably and be full hp so you win all early fights and can react and move around fast -being able to just go 1 or 2 gp10 and upgrade them into really cost effective items that also give you great tools for catching people (shurelyas randuins) -nerf to resists udyrs prime defensive stat -nerf to wits end udyrs prime offensive item -pretty much all the end game items had their resists reduced as well as making it more expensive meaning you have to try real hard to not just end up with a bunch of hp.

If you were to get an offensive item on Garen, maybe BTRK is good ? I remember reading that for bruisers it was more cost-efficient than a BT. The lifesteal might be a waste tho, considering Garen's passive.
Also Garen's spin adds up Cleaver's passive like Wukong's ult does right ? It seems interesting.

No, the one damage item Garen needs is LW. Get tanky first. If we're talking ideal builds, that is.

Garens scare the shit outa me in games until I get my full build on an adc. You need crit and an omen to take that beast down
Jarvan welps the shit outa him in lane though.
