Heh, I'm something like 15-1 in the last 3 days or so. Rose like 200 elo in a week. Good way to start the season... I just hope they don't do anything that forces me to play through the 1300-1400 elo bracket again, because that stuff really starts to wear on me, and I just reached a level where people seem to be pretty chill (or I'm horrendously lucky).

The other prohibitive thing about Jarvan support you're ignoring is how you're more or less dependent on EQ CDs, which has a base CD of 13 seconds. Leona gets her Q/E off CD much faster (and they're much more useful independently whereas you generally want/need the knockup from Jarvan's EQ), which improves her disabling power over long engagements.
Alistar is honestly the better comparison than Leona. Headbutt-Pulv is very similar to a support Jarvan's EQ (shorter CC duration and more awkward casting shape, but longer effective range and provides -armor and the Demacian Standard aura). Like Leona though, Alistar's 2 CCs are much more useful individually, where Jarvan's more or less depending on the knockup for his usefulness as a support, and so requires you to link your Q/E cds together.

I mean Elo is still taken into account, it really shouldn't affect matchmaking that much. Really it's more of a cosmetic change to the way ranking is displayed. You're also still going to play against people outside of your bracket, you won't be stuck with the same people all of the time.

The few times I've tried this I did absolutely gross single target damage and really decent AOE. The Fist and gunblade work really well Liandri's which gains extra damage from your ult and E too. Plus Muramana feels amazing on him with his Q and W. It's really insane. would u go 21 in AP in the offensive tree or the AD route because you dont actually get any ip items until Dcap it seems. also tearstaking seems like a pain in the ass on fizz what exactly is the s3 patch, the new ranking system?
Yeah I would definitely go AP I think... And you get decent AP from the items. Like 40 from Fist, 65 from Gunblade, and 60 from Liandris. So that's 165 without masteries. But the AP doesn't really matter because the AD from muramana and gunblade end up giving you a ton of magic damage.

y forgot that those items give a bit of AP  So it's kind of a on hit build with a bit of tankiness, looks like a very expensive core though in my usual fizz games I'm happy when I managed to finish lichbane+hourglass, usually the game has been snowballed in either direction :O to get 4-5 item fizz

You can't even do that until you have 30%+ CDR or 3-4 ranks in Dragon Strike (which happens at level 14-16 by his E>W>Q skill order). Demacian Standard lasts 8 seconds, and since you cast it before Dragon Strike and Dragon Strike has a travel time, you have to get Dragon Strike CD down to ~7 second or less if you want to Dragon Strike twice to the same flag.

Yeah that's an excellent point, but I'm thinking ill make my core Liandri's, sheen, manamune (6260) which is 160 more than Zhonya's Lich. Now it may not be the same level as with the full fist, but Fizz can impair movement enough without that, giving him something to build.

What the fuck is the point of creating divisions with a whole bunch of people you can 'compare yourself' to when realistically you'll never even see those players in a game?
It's ridiculous.
And hiding numerical elo makes it really aggravating to keep track of progress aside from using shiny gems and shit.
AND of course there's the fact that the bottom of every 'tier' (read: Silver, Gold, etc) will be a horrible cesspool of players who don't give a shit since you can never be demoted from a tier once you've reached it. Sure you still play against players from all different tiers depending on your hidden elo, but it totally destroys whatever point they were trying to make with this division system since the bottom 10? spots of each division are going to all have zero 'League Points' since they're shit and either got carried to their tier or trolled their way down and don't care since they've earned their reward.
I had just forgotten about how much I hated the idea of this system and now it's getting shoved down my throat like a beer bong filled with rancid sewage.

No more "Elo" written anywhere so people will stop talking about "Elo hell" until they start talking about "tier hell" or "division hell".

The actual patch is in the middle of the night, but I assume it's a big patch so they're leaving a lot of preparation beforehand. Probably already started fiddling with ranked queues while leaving normal queues up till later tonight.
