I've only done it like 4 times but she seems very solid, her % damage hits really hard for a support, she has 3 skills that reveal brush, her human Q harass is 60mana at all levels. Her stun is very solid and you have 1075 range gank support, if you just rappel onto someone and then human form point blank stun. She gets a ton of free stats, maxed spiderlings add 200 free AD and she gets free magic damage onhit, plus free tank stats. You just can't ignore her.

QE is pretty easy to aim now that you can E when the sphere is being summoned. and i was thinking about how good (Q)RE is just as a stun.
well, i'll give it a shot. that's how you figure out if stuff is bad or not, right?
i played elise support once. it was underwhelming, especially once you enter midgame/lategame as you can't do anything in teamfights. it's hard enough to teamfight (assuming MPen build) when you're a solo laner, it's absolutely useless from the support position no matter what items you build.

I found elise support easy to teamfight, you just have to remember you are a support, you dont dive in at all. You just sit on your AD carry, then stun and combo anyone who dives them. Just like pretend you are janna except you can jump on people and do a lot of damage.

Hi there, I have a few questions for you guys. I don't know if I am allowed to post here with so few posts, but I couldn't find anything on that, so I'll just go ahead (I've been lurking here for 1 year and 8 months if that counts for anything) Well, recently I have started playing ranked after about 600 normal games. Now normally the normal games I play in are quite friendly, everyone knows their stuff etc. Most of my allies have gold or silver borders, so that is an indication of my range.
Anyways, to the point: The ranked games I played were full of flamers and retards and all that stuff. Not just normal retards, but people I believe have leveled to 30 with purely bot games. Also people seem to respect calls from 5th picks and all that stuff. Once I was 2nd pick and I said I wanted to go mid, but the 5th pick already said mid and then the whole team started flaming me really hard. Does it stay like this? Also nobody has apparently any clue of how to build their champs, like a Warmogs first Teemo.
TL;DR: Is everybody in placement matches for ranked, and beyond that, really so unfriendly and dumb as everyone says? Thank you for reading this!

Welcome! You can post wherever you want, assuming you're respectful and decent. So good work so far.
And no, not everybody. Just... many. It can be annoying. Sometimes you get the good ones. That's how it works.

It stops being that terrible at about 1500 or so in my experience. Your placement matches (the first 10 or so you play) will be a nightmare, but if you're good you can carry most of them and end up at a decent ELO

Also, you can get out of the last pick calling shit with the statement "last picks have no rights". I balance it out with never calling shit, and playing support if I have to.
Then again I automatically associate MIDPLZ and NOTSUPPORT with sub 12-yearolds.

Don't worry about it. I am sure you just got unlucky and had some terrible teammates.
I started the season at 1400s, but 2 days ago I dropped to mid 1200s because my teammates were utter garbage (for the record I did not call them that in game) and I couldn't carry them hard enough. But the last two days my luck changed and my teammates were actually able to play their lanes and not feed... I even got carried one game which I did absolutely nothing but farming mid and my top and bot lanes won naturally by themselves... Now I am mid-1400 again.

this was also S2 so i'm not sure if anything happened in S3 to make it more viable. it might have been pre-elise buff too.

I say "mid plz". A lot of pro mid laners (mild-mannered ones, I should add) say "mid plz" when they play on an unfamiliar server while on stream.
I think it's perfectly acceptable. When I say "mid plz" I am just asking politely for my preferred role. There is nothing wrong with that imo.

In placements, people of wildly different skill levels are matched up and people who play really bad end up on your team. Don't focus on this too much; remember the opponents are just as bad as them, and if you ever get a 2000 elo person in your placements then you're the one that's going to look retarded while playing.

One of the problems is that your first games, as far as i know, tend to be with other people who are new to ranked. Of course there is a large skill range in between those, so games are a lot more open to chance especially around the 1200 area due to people who have not yet found their rating.
People in ranked are generally more tense then in normals, because they have something to lose (elo). Which means that on average, people in ranked games are more unfriendly then in normals, at least from my experience.
But after some point, the game experience in ranked becomes simply better. You usually have more even games, less people doing stupid shit because "its a normal", and people overall tend to play better. You will always get some absolutely stupid people where one really wonders how they reached that elo, but they are not that prevalent. And a lot of people are annoying, but that is just something one needs to learn to deal with.
I have yet to meet one of those people that believe that the picking system is based on calling dibs, but i assume that they are mostly at the starting elo and very fastly disappears if you get a bit higher. Usually people tend to respect if someone asks for something reasonably (which does not mean that you can always get top just by asking nicely, but i for example am pretty bad at ADC, and i play mostly jungle and supp. I get jungle or supp in at least 9/10 games, and i have not had to ADC once this season)
So, it becomes better, but people will still be more angry than in normals. The complete mismatches in skill tend to get less prevalent once you are finished with your placement matches.

I remember Soraka Cass. I tried it a few times and it's kind of funny.
Way too vulnerable to ganks though. You have almost no CC beside a fairly weak AOE slow and you have no gapclosers or any other forms of escape.

That's because you don't use caps. Also I think Syndra benefits too much from CDR to be a decent shot at support. The itemization on her would be pretty awkward, and she requires a load of mana.

I also think it's perfectly fine. It's not like if someone else is higher pick order and takes mid that you are going to flame them. Merely asking if the other 4 players will let you mid. If they don't oh well that sucks but no harm comes from asking. I think "calling" is only an issue if people make it one by being douchebags to each other.

Thank you all! Well, I was last pick 2 times so far, so the carrying thing isn't really working yet, but we'll see.
Also, is my eve build (sorcs, guise and abyssal into rylais and GA) any good? And is it also ok to sell guise for void staff lategame? Cuz I think Liandrys is pretty bad on anyone except Teemo.

But when picked into a good comp she feels really broken because she offers absolutely the best initiation out of all supports and possibly one of the best initiations in the entire game. I find it hard to believe that she's the best initiator if for no other reason than Leona. Except Leona's ult does not have 2k+ range, huge AOE, knocks up every enemy target in range, slows them afterwards, and speeds up allies. Leona's ult does more damage though. Leona's whole kit screams initiation. You don't even have to start the initiation by committing your ult. And her ult DOES have impressive range (when are you really going to want to "Initiate" at 2k range?) it's jsut lacking the AOE that Nami has, but the damage output from Leona + anyone else to take advantage of sunlight is really scary from a support standpoint.
Not that Nami is bad at initiation - hard to be bad when you have a CC ult that makes Sona or Zyra ulti look small, and another good CC to follow up with - but going to have to say Leona is still absolute best initiating support.

What elo does the dumb lastpick top/mid or feed shit almost disappear?

I've really found that you can win a lot of games that start like that by becoming stoic at the stupid shit people do. If you start raging, it's over, just go with it and play well. It's all in the mind.
