Riven has more mobility (no need to charge, no slow attached), her shield doesn't require you to hit someone (and can be used to dodge/dash in), she has a huge AD steroid, Vi requires a lot of chained autos rather than focusing on ability/auto weaving, Riven has more AoE (probably, depends on how strong Vi's E is), including an AoE execute, their CCs are different, Vi has a strong initiation ability whereas Riven prefers to let other people initiate, Vi's shield encourages building health where Riven's encourages stacking more AD... So yeah, not the same. Similar, sure, but not the same. Riven is an AD stacking burst semi-assassin, Vi looks more like a "standard" bruiser.

Why can't she be a support or jungler who punches people through walls with giant steampunk fists? Edit: Actually, can you maybe jungle her? You can definitely jungle her. The odd thing about it is that both W and E are one point wonders, as a jungler you don't get a heck of a lot for investing in them. As a result maxing Q may be the way of things because it's the best option for ganking and won't dramatically affect your clears. If you're really concerned about clearing W will generally be better than E.

I'm sitting in a lane filled up with all the minion rush and in the brush there are gankers sitting there, building tank and trying to set up a gank. Don't look up, just let them think there's no place else you'd rather be. You're always in full view, cause they all warded the river and don't you know by now you can't turn back. Because this road is all you'll ever have. And it's obvious that you're dying, dying. Your jungler isn't even trying. And oh oh open wide, 'cause this is your night. So smile, 'cause you'll go out in style. You'll go out in style. If you let me I could, I'd show you how to play your lane right, do the teamfight, separate from the world. The games your teams will always throw, just grind the elo. Don't look up, just let them think there's no place else you'd rather be. I'd be scared of that just because. Also, E a 1-pointer? Does the damage not scale at all? Is it just CDR on the charges? I would have thought the extra AS/damage on W would almost make it mandatory to max first. Her ganks seem pretty good. Knockback is always wonky as a ganking tools, since you can "save" enemies with it, but it looks more like a Riven disruption knockback than a Hec really big shove. Plus, once you're 6, you can ult, then get behind and quick Q to push back.

There's a big difference between that W and jax's ult. You have to hit the same target 3 times consecutively with Vi's W; Jax's ult you can hit minions twice and still get bonus damage when you hit a champion next.

Also, E a 1-pointer? Does the damage not scale at all? Is it just CDR on the charges? The primary benefit of ranking E is that the time it takes to store charges goes down, you only gain 15 damage per rank. However, when you're jungling you don't really need to use more than one charge per camp, and even if you use two you'll have at least one by the time you reach the next camp. Plus, once you're 6, you can ult, then get behind and quick Q to push back. The thing about W is you start at 6% Damage and 30% Attack Speed, but you only get 1% Damage and 5% Attack Speed for each additional rank. That's not bad but neither is it particularly inspiring. Meanwhile, each rank of Q increases its damage by 30-60 and reduces its cooldown by 2.5s. Going from an 18 second cooldown to an 8 second cooldown is pretty ridiculous in terms of gank/teamfight mobility, especially with some CDR. Correction: You have to hit the same target three times before your previous stacks fade, it doesn't have to be consecutive. Think of it like Vayne's Silver Bolts only stackable on multiple targets at the same time.

Well, I guess just her Q... if it was her ult too that might be too OP.

SotD Hydra Vi for a boom boom Eve initiation on the enemy team. ![]()
