Well, I'm a bit late to the Nami discussion, but I think I've found two things I'm sure about (which may have already been said in some form):
1. Nami is definitely not meant for solo queue. Most supports presently are more or less playmakers. The ADs wait for their support to make a move and follow up on it. Nami is really different, in that she waits for her AD to make a move and then supports the AD. I think a lot of ADs aren't really used to that and would probably be a bit hesitant in doing that unless they saw a clear fight they could win. Her Q, W and R all seem like the type of spells to support a fight once it's already started.
2. Nami has few situations where she'd be picked over something else. I can see her working with Graves, since he's a bit tankier and goes more in people's faces. I don't know if she'd even be the best at this compared to another support, but that's one situation where I think Nami could be picked and do well.
Nami + Twitch is a very strong lane. Twitch's slow sets up Nami's stun and vice versa. Twitch's ultimate also procs Nami's attack slow buff on every target hit, but only loses one charge per attack. Nami's ultimate is very good in the same situations where Twitch's ult is very good, so overall the two have a ton of synergy.
The thesis statement for point #1 I'll agree with, but not the reasoning. The problem isn't playmaking, but AD carry positioning. Most AD carries hang as far back as possible at all times because it's safe, easy, and champions like Ezreal give them some leeway in that regard. However, this puts supports in a bind because it's hard to be both aggressive and safe when your carry is so far back. This affects all supports, Nami just happens to be the one for whom this problem is most glaring.
So if you're duoing, like Miscue and I do, Nami is very effective. If you're solo queuing any poor positioning/support from your AD will be magnified compared to simpler supports (e.g. Taric).

Not sure if anyone here cares, but I'm curious whether the voice actress for Vi is actually Dodger from the youtube channels dexteritybonus and presshearttocontinue. I heard on a podcast that dodger has a character on LoL but I can't confirm it. It would be an interesting piece of trivia for me if it was indeed dodger.

u need to realize the reason most people like Team liquid starcraft team is because their personalities, they didnt win every tournaments out there, but people are still cheering for them. Its gonna be the samething with LoL. No one wants teamliquid to just pickup a random team and name TL before their nicknames. People like the personaliteis, go form a team with great guys like WingsofdeathX etc that others look up to, then even the team doesnt win a lot you still have a lot fans for them just like in SC2.
