also, i dont know where else they would want a support to be if not for jungle or bot. Midlane farm is needed for those burst champions. Unless of course you want to call champions like Orianna "support" and make the new champ similar to those.

Alistar is a little of both because he’s a great linebacker. NO BAD MORELLO STAHP There are no linebackers in LoL. There just aren't. Stop saying that. New champ might be the next Orianna, but more likely she'll be Karma 2.0

They are attempting to create a support that will NOT got bot lane, something like Zilean but even more focused on the supporting. Please tell me where you get the idea they are attempting to create a support that doesn't go bot lane. All they say is: There are two types of champions who support: 1. Those that augment their allies strengths and keep the safe, thus supporting them 2. Other champions that are also relevant with low amounts of gold and have strong lane presence We want Nami to be like the first I think you're absolutely absurd to think Riot has the intention of creating a supporting champion that lanes somewhere else and scales well enough to warrant it when Janna and Lulu (two supports that the reference in regards to Nami) were nerfed into the ground because they were able to do the same thing you think they're implying.

I don't think there's much more to say.

Zyra is the support that can do a lot with little gold, but doesn't directly affect you teammates with any boosting abilities. Nami is going to have abilities that affect your teammates positively in addition to offensive abilities. Edit: offensive “set-up” gg, she's just Naga Siren as a support. Kidding.

I play maokai, malphite or jax in jungle and I never do well. I don't know when I should be doing what or why. Directions to a good guide (preferably not champion specific) and what character should I get for my next 6300 if I want a solid jungle?

Support as a lane role is any character that can thrive on less gold, and has a strong lane presence – either offensively or defensively. Characters from the previous definition often fit here, but other characters go here a lot. The first definition is merely a narrower definition. So when they say support, they mean true support, who (probably) will go in the bot lane, simply due to meta. Can she also be like mid lane Soraka or top lane Lulu? Quite possibly. But I don't think that's something intended.

Honestly Mao is probably one of the easiest junglers at the moment. His CC is point and click making ganks pretty easy to pull off. Do you just have problems when you gank? When do things not go good haha?

i feel like they have no idea what they're really designing for. funny how they mention janna lulu and sona. sona is stuck bot lane, janna is now a niche mid laner because they nerfed her, and they nerfed lulu so that you can't put her everywhere. god forbid they let you play characters in more than one role/lane.

As opposed to Zyra/Ali/Leona. I know some people who only play these types of supports because the other supports are "boring", and I know some people that hate the tanky/cc supports because they like being more "supporty" I guess.

What routs should I take in what situations when going for a gank, (when ganking bot e.g. when do I go through lane, when through river, when through tri?). How do I know if I should stay and try again after failed gank? Do I go wolves, blue, wraiths, red, wolves, wraiths or should I try to gank somewhere in there? I'm usually low after clear, do I gank with 1/3 health remaining or do I b? After buying, do I go gank or get back to farm? (wraiths/wolves are usually up) Lots of questions and no confidence in my decisions.

I like Lee Sin and Riven the most at the moment but I just don't like playing the tanky support jungle role, probably not the best mentality for me to have but meh. If you're blue side, get a smiteless red -> blue -> go top at lv 3 and countergank. Go back around 6 min and buy a ward, ward their blue bush and smite it over the wall ~7:15 when they're trying to give it to their mid.

(wraiths/wolves are usually up) Lots of questions and no confidence in my decisions. Bot lane usually wards river pretty early, so you'll have the most success going through lane, through their jungle -> tri (if you're purple side), or through river if your support can time their river ward. Staying depends on how the gank failed. If it's an escapeless champ who burned their Flash sometimes it's worth it to just wait for your Twisted Advance to come back up and go right back in. If Kat just shunpo'd away and there are lots of minions in lane/a wave coming in for her then it's not worth it. Situational. Clear path depends on a few things. I like to look at the opposing jungler and where he'll start. If it's purple-side Mundo/Lee/someone who will probably start Red and go top and I feel I can do something at lv 3 I'll smiteless red, blue, countergank top. As a general rule you don't want to completely rule out the possibility of ganking by taking skills too early; ie. as Maokai, at level 2 have a look mid and see if you could pull of a gank taking W instead of Q next. That sort of thing. I'm not sure how you're getting low after Mao/Malphite clear. Jax maybe but if you have a good leash (edit: and good timing on E) it shouldn't be a problem. Which items are you starting? Which runes are you using?

(wraiths/wolves are usually up) Lots of questions and no confidence in my decisions. It comes with practice. In terms of which lane to gank, just look for where the enemy is over extended. If they are past river it's probably a good idea to gank. Ask bot or top if they warded. If they don't think so, just go down river. If they run away, it's probably warded. Just farm the jungle, and possibly try another direction soon. Buying Oracles helps so you can clear out any wards and set up ganks in the future. If you are purple side tri-bush is good to walk through if you know where the enemy jungler is. A lot of non-pros never worry about warding it, but you don't want to get caught by the enemy jungler in their jungle.
