It's pretty easy for me to get invested in my Elo, at which point I choke up and never want to queue except to preserve it from decay. This season I'm attempting to queue like crazy without thought or care for how it will affect an arbitrary number associated with my account. So far it's been very helpful in letting me focus on actual improvement over my irrational fears. I think it's legitimate to dodge when your team has a Garen AD Carry. Shit like that happening all the time atm.

If you're really set on gaining Elo or loath not playing to the meta/trolls, then dodging makes sense.

So far it's been very helpful in letting me focus on actual improvement over my irrational fears. I've adapted a similar mindset, but it has quickly gotten to the point where I just treat ranked games like normal games. I've found myself playing champions i've only ever played once or twice before just because I feel like it. Not good for me or my team. Also queing drunk at 3 in the morning is probably terrible for everyone including myself.

It's all the better if there's some oddball in the game because then I'll learn to stop worrying and love the Elo bomb. If I spent four hours not playing because of dodges I'd only be hurting my goals. If you're really set on gaining Elo or loath not playing to the meta/trolls, then dodging makes sense. i don't care too much about the 'troll' picks, but some1 else inevitably does and dodges....and then there goes another 10 mins waiting for queue and picks.

Aren't you semi-nervous about having to play a ton more matches if you do poorly in placements though? I went 0-2 my first two ranked, despite tryharding and playing well. It frustrated me and I'm a little scared of dropping low in placements, as it means having to grind out 10x the amount of games to get where I started :/

I'm excited to but I gotta say Korea only having one qualifier spot is a little crazy. Especially considering SEA and TW get two each. Also really hope CLG.NA makes it.
