Someone called Matt, I didn't really pay attention. He only changes to full screen when games are going on, so as soon as the game ends, you can even see him as he uses a webcam and a nice overlay while providing good information.

He's a caster for AL, and he knows his shit. Least moreso than most non-pro casters.

I was wondering when we'd see ol' clairvoyance. Still #1 for warding safely, still has great potential for understanding where early jungle ganks will come from, still most powerful anti-face-checking-auto-lose skill late game.

Yeah, but I was hoping nobody used it so that Riot buffed it even though it didn't need it. Like give assists if you CV'd someone before they died.

Exactly. It has just fallen out of favour because you'd be missing a combat summoner in bot lane if the enemy goes standard exhaust on support and ignite on AD.
M5 was clever though and made top the 1v2 lane where it doesn't really matter while giving Vayne (who is a weak laner) free farm, negating almost all the disadvantages. Later, CV will somewhat 'outscale' an Ignite and most importantly, makes it almost impossible for the enemy to bait baron.

He's doing quite well by himself, something I've recently be wondering if I'd succeed at in any way if I had to.
I keep hoping for more casting duos to pop up on streams (cuz I'm lazy and haven't search for VoDs) to study for my own improvement.

M5's teamfighting still impressive as ever. 3 of them get to flashing red while IWC (I want cookie!?) have a bunch of dudes exploding and dying.

Casting is definitely hard. After trying my hand at it I have a lot of respect for anyone who sticks with it, even if I think they're ultimately inadequate. To cast well you have to:- Be aware of all facets of the game at all times, or risk missing important action.
- Be able to quickly, clearly, and concisely convey complicated concepts.
- Be able to discern the action in the chaotic mess of large battles and articulate all of the most crucial moments.
- Analyze on the fly, which in and of itself requires a deep, thoughtful knowledge of the game.
- Not get tongue tied.
- Endure. Casting drains mental energy as fast as a powerpoint lecture at 7AM on a Friday.
- Have enough charisma and personality to be at least slightly interesting.
- Get over how dumb you think your own voice sounds.
There's a reason why casting duos are common, and even legendary solo casters often pair up for large tournaments. Splitting the mental load is incredibly helpful given just how demanding it all is.

MLG Dallas teams announced: Azubu Blaze, Curse, Najin Sword, Dignitas, CLG EU, CLG NA, Team Dynamic, and TSM
Pretty bummed mme.Ferus weren't invited, but I'm excited Najin Sword is going to be there. Also this doesn't give CLG's new line-up much time to practice.
Edit: I would take Ferus over TD, but I guess they've had better tournament history.

That's a very good point about the 2v1 lane, and I could be wrong here because I don't follow the scene THAT closely, but I think another reason they took CV was that the tournament is full of B-class teams and m5 wanted the safety that CV provides while knowing they would destroy teamfights easily even without exhaust/ignite.

IWC is holding their own against M5. I'm surprised at how well they are doing. They are losing teamfights, yes, but not so badly that they are straight up losing. And their decision making is excellent, trading baron for inhibitors and turrets even after losing a fight. Really cool to see.

What's a good all-purpose item build on Jax?

It's not about the teamfights, it's about the laning phase where the duo with ignite is heavily favoured over the one without because they have more damage + sustain reduction in direct combat. That's where it really matters. Later, a teamfight is rarely lost just because the team is missing one single Ignite. You still have the Exhaust.
And even though their enemie's are B teams, doesn't mean that these don't know how to abuse the ignite advantage. IWC's bot lane has beaten M5's bot lane the game before, so I don't think M5 was underestimating them. And this is why the 1v2 top lane was chosen wisely by M5:
-Vayne is a weak laner in general (although her matchup against Ez and other skill shot based champs is quite ok) -Trading Ignite for CV makes their 2v2 bot (even) weaker
By sending Genja + Gosu top they are negating both disadvantages and have Vayne + CV scale super hard into lategame so they could turn the game around. This worked the game before too, only had they put Ashe top free farming to 200 CS at 20 minutes and rendering enemy Riven useless.
I wonder why IWC didn't really react to that, this shouldn't work vs better teams (where you are probably right in that it's not sure if M5 would use such a strategy against better opponents).

Triforce gunblade, or just triforce v.scepter GA. Usually boots+3 -> double dblades + phage -> finish triforce -> GA, pick up a vamp along the way for the sustain. I like cutlass first when I'm allowed it, then triforce, then finish gunblade. Extra slow pretty good to catch up to people with escape moves (Shen, Kennen) after you engaged with Q, AD for trades, lifesteal for sustain. It's awkward to build but if you can save the money it's worth it I think.
When building triforce, Sheen first for easy lanes where you can burst at will, Phage for tankiness in any other lane;

Pretty much what I do as well. If I don't see myself dying in teamfights I skip Guardian Angel and get instead an Infinity Edge/Bloodthirster for more damage. If the enemy has strong AP I like to build in Maw of Malmortius. I just really like that item <3.
The early levels are kind of hard but I feel like tabi/mercs + double dorans and hp/mana pots make it endurable. And then you get Trinity and start slapping bitches with your lamp post. I like cutlass first for the early kills if I'm not being forced to roam or having my farm denied.

Having done a bunch of casting on my own, there are some things that are easier, but a LOT of things that are harder. More risk of sounding like an idiot when you don't know what you're talking about, way more exhausting, more risk of missing stuff, if you suck at entertaining it's going to be that much crappier for people watching you.
