Today we are excited to announce the addition of Yoonsup “Locodoco” Choi to the CLG NA roster. Locodoco will play support for the team while Chauster and HotshotGG will move to fill the jungle and top lane roles respectively. Locodoco had this to say about his decision to leave Korea and join CLG:
“After declining several offers from Korean teams I’m glad to finally settle down with CLG. I see an immense potential within the team and hope to bring my Korean mindset and work ethic back to North America so that we may perform up to the CLG name in Season 3 and beyond.”
Joedat "Voyboy" Esfahani has been released from the team.
Im sorry but Loco wants to bring the Korean mindset to a team that has sworn off actual practice and thought 8 mandatory hours of soloQ streaming was a good way to prepare for the biggest tournament of there life?
Yeah....
I dont see that working out very well.
That's just a PR statement.
Can't say "I want to make the big bucks by streaming."
Honest question - if Hotshot stepped down from being a player and became a manager, but still streams, would he make as much money? Esp with future tournaments requiring a mandatory sub, which can always be hotshot. I feel like if he stopped being on the starting roster clg would have a large temporary popularity boost as people tune in to see the new lineup, and hotshot would still have a solid amount of viewers because he's still hotshot.
Let's face it, League practice is going in the direction of Starcraft in that teams will be training 6-10 hours a day together. Hotshot has never seemed this type of person to me, so just from his perspective I'd actually step down and just stream for fun (and money), all while promoting clg.
that was probably bot as big of a bash from toyz as it seems after the translation, I think he just said that Scarra picked Kat because he felt like playing her because sghe's his signature champ but it wasnt the correct choice to fit in their teamcomp but a selfish decision

Didn't Hotshot once pull 10k viewers by assembling a couch...

He pulled 10k viewers that just watched him sleep, he was that popular...... too bad TheOddOne is even more popular now
Voyboy leaves CLG officially, can't blame him for not wanting to ride the bench.
Interested to see where he ends up. I just got into the scene recently, but I've had an affinity for CLG since I watched them at MLG Spring Championship. Little did I know that was the last time they were going to look solid for a while ha. At least there's CLG.EU.

well that was a fast decision on his part, cant blame him, many people would be probably be satisfied with being a sub for clg but voyboy is indeed one of the better toplaners of NA although I cant say that I have been particularly impressed by him ever since they went to korea.

Why is that too bad? TheOddOne is incredible. Best stream

Most likely has more to do with how this happened than what happened I think. Seems like he was rather angry and didn't know about it until it happened. Not really the way you go about changing a team tbh.

I don't blame any parties here. Voy is good enough to get on another NA team and compete, and CLG is definitely going to be stronger with their current lineup. I've been holding off saying this for this long, but I really don't see people's problems with a definite upgrade. I don't know about you but I believe in Chauster's jungle a lot more than HSGG. Jungler is definitely a linchpin of the team, and I was so confused when HSGG switched to jungle in the first place. Yes I'd keep Voy instead of HSGG top, but obviously the owner of CLG isn't about to leave so you have to deal with him somewhere. And not like he'd swallow his pride and support either, nor should he because he'd be an awful support.
Oh I don't think this is bad, don't really know enough about the players. Just think it seems like they don't know how to handle roster changes in a mature manner.

Well hotshot is a better top laner then voyboy so that's a great change. Loco played a great AD so his bot lane play should be amazing no matter if he's ADC or Support. He might take some time to get use to Dlift but I bet they click together very well. The weakest spot I feel is Chauster in the jungle. Although he already is strong with certain junglers (lee comes to mind) it still might take him some time to get use to the position.
Great roster change up though. CLG could easily retake their #1 NA spot back assuming Chauster can get use to the jungle.
Chauster in jungle potentially puts him in a great position to make tactical calls for the team? I hope hotshot is ready to hand over shot calling, though, and trust Chauster's calls.
Also hotshot Nidalee returns! Also maybe he can be a great Jayce for the same reason.

You're very optimistic. lol I personally see something more like HS farming top all game long arguing about Chauster's calls while enemy top laner roams, Chauster camping bot because Loco + Lift² too much QQing and bigfatlp getting destroyed mid because of repeated ganks of top lane.

Don't meet trouble halfway!
However, this could very well become true. I still believe. Whatever will be, I prefer farmfestGG over overlyaggressiveloselane-boy.

Nidalee/Jayce/Elise! He seriously has a lot of work to do, but still overall better than HSGG jungling.
I do think Chauster jungle is a good move overall - he seems to have the best feel for the game on the team, and he's supported long enough to be used to a non-farm role now. I wonder how the HSGG+Chauster relationship will work now that Chauster has the unenviable position that SV used to have of babysitting HS.
