GROUPS! A: Frost, iG, SK, CLGNA B: Dig, CLGEU, Sword, SJ wow, Group A is going to be insane. I think SK's chances are slim at best. my guesses are Frost and iG, really sucks to be CLGNA if they can't beat the asian teams. for Group B, SJ probably won't take a single game. definitely going to be easier to advance here. guessing Sword and CLGEU, but I'm cheering for Dignitas. | ||

Given how the Ro8 seeds worked that might have caused quite a shitstorm. In group A, iG+Frost seems most likely. SK could get lucky in a game or two and squeeze by if its a good day for them. CLG.NA's chances seem slim. They've lost 2 Bo5s and a Bo3 to iG recently (one of which was at a ping disadvantage), and their chances against Frost are even worse. Group B not much to say, Sword + CLG.EU are the favorites, though with SAJ in the group, Dignitas probably only needs to beat one of either Sword or CLG.EU to get tiebreakers or better. | ||

HoMM5 was overall better than 3 (assuming you play the second expansion; the vanilla had a LOT of problems). They are kind of similar, but 5 is much better because you can customize better and each race actually plays DIFFERENTLY, unlike 3 which is pretty much just about mechanics. 5 also avoided some of the things that were utterly broken in 3 (direct damage spells and Towngate) but also introduced some other ones (Poppet Master and Vampirism OP). My only complaint about 5 is that the AI is not very good. 4 was... an experiment that was poorly executed. Vanilla 4's campaigns are interesting with good stories, but at the end that game has only 3 (viable) ways to play (Regeneration Paladin no creature, Necromancy, or Order Magic /w infinite displace; if you are not playing Life, Order, or Death you just train a hero of one of those factions or get boned... remember A Pirate's Daughter?). HoMM6 looks good to me so far. At the beginning I was skeptical over having only 4 resources (Gold, Wood, Lumber, and Crystal), but it feels OK. I managed to finish the Necropolis campaign in one day.... I probably will play the Sanctuary one next (i.e. neglecting trying to get better at LoL until I beat the entire campaign).... | ||
