Personally I think they should play out tiebreakers rather than using the time rule for an important tournament like this.

The worst case is that you say you support but can't ad carry and they say the same but you make em ad carry anyway and say you're 100% worse at ad. Or you have to mid but you pick some top champ like malphite or something. Only happened like once. And playing all roles doesn't isn't as important as paying attention to all roles and how they perform. I play next to no ad carries but most of my teamfight focus is on what the ad carry is doing and what the correct reaction is and it's a lot better than saying "hmm what pisses me off when I'm playing ad carry" because that's depends on a lot of factors espiecially if you're not good at the role. It helps at higher elo because if you're low/last pick you usually get suppport and if you're first pick you often get jungle and most of the time you're a higher pick but it's not like I ever gained elo from playing mid or ad carry at lower elo lol. I like nobody expects anyone in a 5's team to play more than one role but as soon as it' solo queue you gotta play everything or it's a detriment to your improvement? You say not much of the skill of the game is role-dependent but I'm all for reducing as many variables as possible, so you can spot mistakes way easier. If you're changing role and champ lots of times it's hard to judge when you misplayed or when you misjudged the situation or wether you're less strong than you should be due to mistakes early or something. It's always good to have a huge reference game base with the same hero so you know "Oh my champ build isn't bad their team is just fed that's why I feel useless" etc.

I play mainly AD and in the last few months my elo is slowly descending, from 1580 to 1450ish. I main Vayne, but it just seems like she isn't viable at all, and I can't win a single game with her, so I switched to Corki and had a lot of success, but I'm still a few games short. What play styles and general tactics do you recommend for solo Q AD playing to win? I tend to make almost no risky plays at all, I write to my support that we are playing to farm, I mostly ask for a sustain support too, since I feel like my strengths as a player lie in the mid-late game possitioning and general good last hitting for my elo (around 100cs at 10min mark). Any thoughts? If you want to keep playing Vayne, tell your team not to feed in lane and stall into late game because you will win there if your teamfighting is as good as you say. If you don't want to rely on that, figure out wether you like Graves, Ez or Corki the best and play them with aggressive supports and crush your lane. Try to make calls, for example by pinging dragon like mad after killing your lane and stuff. Maybe even using the chat if they don't understand you, hue. The problem with Vayne is that it's not the rest of the team, I can't survive the lane. Either it's a 4man gank, or my support getting caught or me. And I like Corki the best, hence why I'm playing him. Ok so, agressive it is, Corki Leona combo.

It's always good to have a huge reference game base with the same hero so you know "Oh my champ build isn't bad their team is just fed that's why I feel useless" etc. The thing is your Elo is already comparatively high, so its not really a relevant example, same with the case where you're discussing 5's vs. solo queue. Professional players are already at the level where they don't need to be playing every role. Similarly, at the start of S2, your skill level was high enough that you don't need that kind of experience in the fundamentals. When you start at 1250 (which is where the discussion came from--a discussion of learning roles for someone who's pre-30/fresh 30) the most important thing to rise the first couple hundred Elo is fundamentals. NOTHING that is role-specific will make or break games at that low of a level. It's far more important to build a broad understanding of the gameflow and how the roles interact, and it's much quicker and more effective to do that experiencing all the roles. As you climb the ladder and build a better understanding of the game, you can narrow down your focus, but I would definitely disagree with someone who is just starting to play ranked for the first time hemming themselves into 1 role.
