you're missing CDs and leveling paths. Omen of Famine can be powerleveled to level your damage and sustain at the same time, all going on a 6 second CD. The fact that Nunu has to power level consume to put consume on the same level of crazy lane sustain means he loses damage output, which is why they don't do it, which means that there are actually punishable gaps inbetween Nunu's CDs, as opposed to Yorrick.

Also, ghouls lag the game and make it impossible to click on anything without introducing any interesting or fun gameplay. Say what you will about Nunu, but at least what he's doing is simple and straight to the point and doesn't fuck with your basic mechanics by halving your framerate or making everything impossible to click on.

I can't say for sure, since I don't usually build those items on him, but it seems pretty likely that's the patch notes what the patch notes are intended to say.

I can't say for sure, since I don't usually build those items on him, but it seems pretty likely that's the patch notes what the patch notes are intended to say.


Yeah I remember when I played him on PBE before the bola didn't even give you the proc. I thought it was kind of odd at the time.

I dunno, it's fucking hard to CS when you're at -60% movespeed and -25% AS over half the time. I am walking up to the low health creep ahh snowball noooOOoooo... *starts auto animation as minions steal cs*

Soraka was trash tier what? I remember her consistently having one of the top winrates (bringing winrate into conversation... ugh i hate myself right now!) though this might be because most games, nobody would pick a real support for their duo lane, so when someone did, they were pretty heavily favored. (I remember doing a lot of soraka or sona + ANYTHING in bot lane and winning lane 90% of the time with pure faceroll, but it was always against things that people would consider trash bot lane comps now, since this was back when AD carry was usually mid.)

Soraka was trash tier when roaming supports were powerful. Babysitting bottom lane didn't mean jack when roaming ganks were trashing top and mid and Soraka had no counter-roaming ability. So picking Soraka meant you had 1 winning lane and 2 losing lanes + losing jungle. It doesn't matter how well you babysit your carry in that scenario--if you're losing both other lanes and jungle, it's hard to carry from that situation.

When roaming essentially died, Soraka became god-tier because she was far and away the best support on lane, just with the tradeoff of zero roaming power (which instantly became irrelevant because nobody was roaming anymore).

you're missing CDs and leveling paths. Omen of Famine can be powerleveled to level your damage and sustain at the same time, all going on a 6 second CD. The fact that Nunu has to power level consume to put consume on the same level of crazy lane sustain means he loses damage output, which is why they don't do it, which means that there are actually punishable gaps inbetween Nunu's CDs, as opposed to Yorrick.

Also, ghouls lag the game and make it impossible to click on anything without introducing any interesting or fun gameplay. Say what you will about Nunu, but at least what he's doing is simple and straight to the point and doesn't fuck with your basic mechanics by halving your framerate or making everything impossible to click on.

Soraka was trash tier what? I remember her consistently having one of the top winrates (bringing winrate into conversation... ugh i hate myself right now!) though this might be because most games, nobody would pick a real support for their duo lane, so when someone did, they were pretty heavily favored. (I remember doing a lot of soraka or sona + ANYTHING in bot lane and winning lane 90% of the time with pure faceroll, but it was always against things that people would consider trash bot lane comps now, since this was back when AD carry was usually mid.)

Soraka was trash tier when roaming supports were powerful. Babysitting bottom lane didn't mean jack when roaming ganks were trashing top and mid and Soraka had no counter-roaming ability. So picking Soraka meant you had 1 winning lane and 2 losing lanes + losing jungle. It doesn't matter how well you babysit your carry in that scenario--if you're losing both other lanes and jungle, it's hard to carry from that situation.

Practically speaking, that's probably one of the best examples of perceived champion strength being skewed by the popular styles of play. Soraka and Sona were actually quite good at the time, it's just the most common styles of play on NA didn't favor supports with no roaming power, so they were perceived as trash tier. Realistically, roaming supports and babysitting supports were probably balanced relative to one another (as evidenced by roaming's popularity on NA and babysitting supports' popularity on EU), with the particulars dictated by the draft in a given game (e.g. drafting a safe jungler and hard to gank laners discourages roaming).

Then Riot decided they just didn't like roaming (which I do not understand, as I think the dynamic between having a roaming support vs. having a lane support is an interesting one) so they essentially gutted some of the core champions to roaming's viability (remade Alistar, nerfed Eve into the ground, severely nerfed the 1v2-ing ability of various core bot lane champions like Cho'gath). This killed roaming and thrust Soraka and Sona into "OP" status because suddenly their tradeoff for strong laning power was no longer a drawback anymore.

I've interrupted jax and panth's jumps with Alistar q and janna tornado, can anyone confirm any other gap closers they stop? Jayce, irelia, amumu?

I know it stops Amumu at whatever point he was in flight same with Irelia.

Not sure of them all but if you ever interupt Corki/Trist jumps with Tornado every now and again it seems to just freak out and launch them into space for about 20 seconds.

Can plat/diamond players explain to me armor quints vs hp/5 top lane? I want to hear how lane mechanics would work in high level play. All I know is the basics that hp/5 is better to heal up and armor quints wins you trades.
