What's that? I can't imagine his leap being too useful at level 1 and he wouldn't have the snare until he had 5 ferocity built up. Unless he had exhaust I'd think it'd be hard to do.
Open Q, charge 4 stacks on jungle minions before going to lane. Flat AD page+dorans. Proceed to allin from a bush. Didn't look like a particularly hard allin to pull off.
what happens if they send a ranged champion top and they farm from the bottom half of the lane? what happens if they see you walk in with 4 ferocity and decide to avoid confrontation until you burn it somewhere? it's not like rengar can cs from the brush more than even a melee champ can cs from the bottom half of the lane.
seems like a gimmick to me. if i'm three man ganking a fiddle at level 6 and we don't have interrupts or ignites i wouldn't be surprised to watch him ult from a bush and get a triple kill. doesn't mean he's op, just that i didn't take the appropriate steps to deal with his strengths and he got to shine in a near-perfect scenario.
See this is where the fact that he's a mana-less champ with a heal, and has a free 575 range point-and-click nuke+slow comes into play.
If you can't gib people at level 1, you max E and just E spam them out of lane. If it's a lane where you can't do that, you max W and abuse the fact that double-W instaclears at 3rd rank.
A month of not playing, start playing again... And I feel like I'm playing better than ever o_O All the time I'm checking the minimap, mentally keeping track of the enemies, etc. My mechanics of course are pretty bad and I'm totally failing at lasthitting but still... Does anyone else have experiences like this?
By the way, Rengar seemed like shit in Phreak's spotlight. It's like he was playing against triple digits... Which is a good thing, I'd say. Because to me, Rengar's skillset just seems completely insane. He can practically do The Yorick without any mana problems, after all, and my scrubby math tells me that even at lvl 3 he's going to be healing 15% of his max hp every... 12 seconds? Something like that.
2.5 AD ratio on a skill with 100% aspd boost(total 150% aspd boost if rumors are correct)... Nice AD ratios on others...
Yeah I really want to give him a try and just build a truckload of flat AD, perhaps with a Cleaver.
If we go with just theory his best burst is going to be leap auto -> Q -> bola -> auto -> Q -> autos and... I wonder what survives that
Then again I guess he might just be a shitty WW wannabe

A nice change to the usual of him being 5 levels ahead, facemelting everyone on the enemy team with full itembuilds vs someone with a dorans, then the champ turns out to be horrible when you actually play it.
Rengar's most important stat is easily CDR. With capped CDR he has a semi-permanent 50% attack speed buff, a ranged slow/nuke on a 5 second cooldown, and 50% uptime on a 60/60 defensive steroid. Mixing in ferocity empowered abilities just makes it crazy (and of course more CDR leads to more ferocity).
FYI if you jungle Rengar don't follow Phreak's suggestion of maxing Q first. QWE then maxing W is the way to go. You don't gain much for leveling Q (5% attack speed per level and minimal damage), while W gives you AoE clearing power and tanky stats for diving towers/ganking burst APs. E isn't a bad option second, but maxing it first doesn't do much because the root duration on the empowered version isn't affected, and the slow only increases by 5% per level.
I really, really, REALLY do not look forward to this champion. This is going to be SO ANNOYING to play against. I imagine he can basically juke in jungle like crazy, have sustain only limited by cooldown (WTF IS THAT RIOT ARE YOU CRAZY), and if he is jungling, he can just lane gank all day with his crazy gap closer.
