You should instead be comparing her to supports rather than mids, same deal as kennen I just played a ranked game against AP orianna who went like 17/3, she's really strong. I mean, I don't want to hate on trying unconventional supports (support xin/wukong btw is epic good) but generally whenever you start playing them it feels like they're all decent until you play "real" supports and realize how brokenly OP they are and then you stop trying. that's basically what i was going to say, yeah -80 ad and conditional stuns and all this stuff, they all sound great, but whoah have you guys played with janna lately? Even if you can lock in a random champion and do cool stuff as support the actual supports do INSANE things with no items. The effects are mostly boring and not flashy (questionable design there riot) but they're wayyyy stronger than what other people do. If you compare ori to janna or annie to taric or tryndamere to alistar you will feel humbled in the presence of true ridiculousness.

I actually think that Taric is pretty shitty outside of lane phase. Maybe I'm just playing with bad Tarics but I don't see what he does that Leona, Alistar, or Janna don't do way better.
Like, I get that his auras are nice but they don't feel very powerful at all.
|
Naw, taric blows.
And I maintain that a lot of champions can do cool shit without a lot of farm. Its just no one has practice on it, either in support fashion or as the ad champ playing with it. And I mean at the VERY least you can just slap 15 ad on Reds and Quints and just blast people out of lane with autos.

And you haven't even seen my trinity omen solo top cow.
Honestly the two roles where any champ could kinda fit imo are top and support.
|
I personally think there shouldn't be any champs designed specifically to be a support. I think every champ should scale well with farm, and then you force a lot more strategy/thought to go into your support pick rather than these handful of champs who are always good in every situation because they were designed that way.
My most recent non traditional support pick is leblanc. So much silence and good burst even with no ap. Not actually that good but you can still pull it off. Next on my list is teemo for that imba blind and free wards, not to mention great lane harass.

NO AP anivia literally does all the supporting that a straight support anivia can do and still be a straight up damage threat the whole game. anivia's ability to function with high utility and damage is what separates her from the other APs

support ap tristana and support twitch are both very strong. heal/ignite

I've gone against support Anivia in ranked before. First game my bot lane miraculous fed him. Second time I was bot support and the Anivia went 0/7 in lane.
It's completely reliant on cheesing early kills and completely useless when you don't.

That's pretty much a non sequitur.

half the goofy stuff people list as support is actually having a roamer that just camps bot because he doesn't know what he's doing

Yesssss finally someone whe thinks like i do.
Riot clearly doesn't like releasing new supports since they don't sell, and people don't like playing them because they are boring. Why don't they just nerf all of the existing supports, making "off-supports" more viable and opening up more strategies like double jungle/roaming 5th or whatever.
They can always buff the ratios on existing supports if they don't see enough play. A lot of them are pretty good mid/jungle as it is now anyways.

Is it just me or are the people in solo queue VASTLY worse during the weekend? I never really noticed this till last weekend but I think there's a pattern developing.

Korean hours are HELL to play at. Relative elo drops a good 500 points.
Weekends/vacations arent quite as bad, but still not great.

actually, reading thru that thread, i'm glad to see a significantly less mindless LoL bashing compared to previous trollbait threads. I think TL might finally be starting to accept that we're going to be here for awhile (baby steps tho).
