Yeah but if you wanted a utility caster why would you pick Lux over Morgana or Orianna? Both champions bring more utility and do more damge late game. And if you wanted a long range damage caster why would you pick Lux over like Xerath? The only reason I can see to ever get Lux is just because you like playing her.

Lux can do certain things that Morgana or Orianna can't do reliably. Certainly there are things they do BETTER than Lux, but they can't simultaneously hard-cc two bruisers while simultaneously snipe the enemy carries to bring them into easy-kill range for your own assassin-bruiser.
For instance, Lux can just E-R enemy backline and then all you need to do is throw someone like Irelia with ignite at them and then they're fucked, because how's a squishy with half-health going to fight Irelia with ignite. Meanwhile, Lux is using light binding and prism to protect your own carry + whoever the prism hits. Moreover, if any ONE of the enemy team member cannot sustain, Lux can safely laser-attrition them to death.
But again, this isn't to say that I think Lux is an all-amazing AP carry, moreso to say that certain plays available to Lux are not available to other AP heroes. Naturally, this works both ways.

my talking point on lux will always be that lucario love had 250+ games in season 1 with lux with an over 10.0 KDA and under 50% winrate. that one little stat will always say everything I want to say about the character.

Karthus is an abomination. That passive is just such bullshit. A character that deals unreasonably large AoE DPS needs to at least have the possiblity to mitigate their lategame damage output, but there's just no way to prevent his damage at all.

New item - The Dematerializer (0gold) - Active: use on Karthus ghost. Banishes Karthus out of the game. Karthus will not respawn.
