Why is it that teams don't run CV all the time anymore? Even in this IPL game, neither team is running CV. I realize it was nerfed but the vision is still really useful, no? It seems like most AD carries are running Heal/Flash so why would you also take Heal on your support?

Lol I love me some Vlad. Went 11-1-18 today. I love how he can sustain. I've gotten to the point where I just rape my lane and then b at 1600 gold and get me some needlessly large rod. GG

Probably. The great majority are really casual and think kills win games still. If this ever happened I'd stop playing. It's bad enough as is where there really aren't a bunch of ways to outplay your opponent and if a game goes long enough team mechanics are the only thing that matter. Riot needs to address why people turret farm for 20 minutes (turrets too stronk, lanes too short, etc) instead of taking out the last real way for a solo player to outlane their opponent and actually carry a game.

The argument I heard from Xpecial on his stream is yeah, it gets you vision, but the trade-off is you lose bottom lane. Having an extra heal or exhaust bottom lane can be huge. Whereas with good warding and map awareness people generally know where everyone else is in tourney play.

Someone needs to inform him bloodline champions already exists.

It's so sad that in normals especially most people are those autoattacking 50 creeps at 30min people... Depressing to think that this system would reward them

Where would be the skill then? That's a huge part of the skill requirements. They'd need to make the game a lot more fast-paced in that case and it would ruin all the good dynamics of the game and the skill factor


If this came to be, I'd just play gangplank every game and just zone the enemy as I wouldn't need to bother lasthitting, now THAT's fun gameplay..

go play bloodline champions or dominion if you don't want to last hit. IMO a lot of the appeal for myself towards mobas like dota and LoL is that balance between PvE and PvP elements. I don't really want to get rid of every aspect of PvE with the idea that LoL should be a purely PvP game (because it's not). As it is, LoL/dota/hon have a really cool balance between tower defense elements, rpg elements, and arena elements that I think makes them really shine as a genre. There is, of course, an appeal for games that would focus on other elements and try to phase out the pve parts, but I don't think LoL should move in that direction, and should just leave that to other games/gamemodes.

there was also a really good point somewhere in the thread in that it really skews the power level of melee champs in favor over ranged, because melee no longer need to be close to the creeps to get gold. Suddenly, (especially given how many melee champs have blinks/dashes) there is minimal benefit in being a ranged champion over a melee in laning.

that said, i think it's a good thought exercise, and we def should be questioning whether or not we need certain fundamental game mechanics, but I would be happy to see last hitting stay.

side note: blc was a pretty fun game when i played it a couple times, i just never really got into it for whatever reason.

the guy who wrote this doesn't understand how much room for decision making the lasthitting mechanic creates. Also his proposal shows how little he understands from the matchups and overall balance of the game. There is so much wrong with this that I don't even start to point out specifics.

I find it embarassing and saddening that this gets so much positive feedback because I would not enjoy LoL anymore after a change like this, and its one of my favorite games . embarassing especially since I thought myself as a LoL community member. Apparently there is a huge part that doesn't even get one of the very basics of the game that creates so much tension and is highly rewarding for skilled players that have quick and smart laneing patterns and decision making. I feel a strong disconnect to the LoL community now.

It's not a matter of thinking that kills DO win games, it's the thought that kills and pushing down turrets SHOULD win games. Two different arguments entirely. I happen to agree with the sentiment that last hitting is an archaic game mechanic, but it absolutely in no way should be removed from League of Legends. It's too core to the game's design, removing it would make the gameplay unrecognizable. I think MOBAs of the future will probably deemphasize it though, for the reasons the OP there mentioned.

LoL has millions of users, and most of them are rather young.

It's expected that the majority is... how to put it... Not even interested in measuring actual skill. They just want to win.

I am actually very, very surprised Dominion doesn't have a larger playerbase, it's pretty much just fighting and no "boring" farming.

the passive gold based of downed tower is an interesting idea. the minion death giving gold in the area or towers killing minions giving global gold is trash though.

i think a moba where minions gave no gold and all the gold came from passive gold based of downed towers, kills, and dragon like objectives could be very fun as well as deep. it would have to be a separate game from lol and not just a different mode.
