People have tried it, but it isn't really as accurate on the fly as you'd think, at least not without a lot of practice. I mean, I assume you're talking about having like, a Wacom tablet and just tapping to indicate the screen position, right? How often can you tap the correct position if you try 10 times? 100 times? Not to mention that you'd have to set up a new way of scrolling to the side and right/double clicking, scrollwheel, and that a mouse has room for more buttons (thumbs, pinky, middle finger). But if you can get over that (and it's not impossible), more power to you. I just know my college roommate who tried it (in WoW, though), couldn't get a hang of it after a week of trying. But, to each their own, maybe it'll become the new trackball.

Although casting it away from you is probably the worse/lazy option than walking and then casting it. I hate how it works for Annie and Cho. I know I am in range, but since I place my mouse pointer further away from my champ (increased accuracy compared to having the cursor close to your champ), Annie/Cho won't cast the damn spell until I bring the cursor closer... So it's not unreasonable to try it for other games.

Especially if you consider how good they've gotten in the past year or so, a touchscreen for gaming isn't inconceivable in the near future.

Because I'm left-handed but using the mouse with my right hand. ![]()

Well, for rhythm games, you're just tapping in a general location, so being off by a bit is the difference between great and good. In, say, LoL, those few pixels mean you missed a CS, and in SC2, you just tried to focus an Archon instead of the Sentry. It's a good idea, and would be great if the technology was more advanced and we were more used to using it instead of being indoctrined with a mouse.

Oh man, don't bring up the controller/keyboard discussion though, there may be blood. + Show Spoiler + I like to use a controller on my FPS games. I'll be a social pariah forever.

The hints I have gotten from Riot indicate that the system they are shooting for is going to automatically keep/upload replays to the client so that you can search for people and get their replays. Then they can just cast those and whoever is good will gain a following. Not all that hard. Its a hell of a lot easier to find a good caster than it is to try to fix whatever the hell happened to the starcraft scene. Are there any hints on when replays will come? They didn't say anthing about replays when S2 came along (real dissapointing IMO)

Except maybe Osu on Lunatic songs. EDIT: On January 17 2012 03:02 Woony wrote: Are there any hints on when replays will come? They didn't say anthing about replays when S2 came along (real dissapointing IMO) Replays will come out + Show Spoiler + when they're done. :3

How can one finger (right thumb) be responsible for 4 inputs? Most of the standard user interfaces in our day and age are terrible, some people just got used to it, and different persons will like different hardware interfaces.

It'd probably also be difficult getting used to right and leftclicking, especially if you spam a lot of clicks for whatever reason. With some better tech and some time to get used to it though, I don't think it's too far-fetched, but it's not something I would personally use. Except maybe Osu on Lunatic songs. EDIT: Replays will come out + Show Spoiler + when they're done. :3 I've played Rift, WoW, SC2(challenges) and LoL when bored during 3hr lecture with a wacom bamboo and it is capacitive. If you want to use it as a point and click style where you don't drag the cursor you run into precision issues if stuff is moving around due to how hard it is to judge the ratio of the screen resolution to the tablets usable area. If you take too long locating the pointer it's worse than using a mouse. If you hover it so you can see the mouse the entire time and drag it then you have issues where if you accidentally make contact you're left clicking for no reason or if it stays touching you right click in the wrong spot. I don't see it being worth it.

I have looked over some past games and have come to realize I sacrifice too much farm for harassing my opponent and was thinking about champs who either excell well at farming while harassing or have such a beast late game you don't even have to worry about harassing your opponents. Boredom plays a pretty big role here I feel and I really want to change things up. Basically meaning learning a couple of champs from the get-go and try to get every single last hit each game. So I thought, hell, go learn Singed/GP, Ahri/Fizz/Ryze, Nocturne/Lee, Corki/Sivir. Any other suggestions?
