I didn't mean that the range changes. Just that you need to make sure to use as little time as possible to evaluate the range of any ability. Ideally that means that you just know whether or not you can hit something without having to rely on any animation. Whether you then just press the button or press the button and click at the same time doesn't matter and is more a matter of preference. I think smartcasting forces you to train that and I think people benefit from that. | ||

This is the biggest downside of this game :'( | ||

I'd be in for it as well, but commentating when someone else moves the camera around is total crap. | ||

i always wanted to smartcast everything with QWER but some spells i wanted to cast normal. so every game i had to rebind my keys depending on which champ i was playing. i see alot of streamers doing this. i was always bothered that you can't bind normal cast to Shift-QWER ingame. i somewhere found an instruction how to do it: + Show Spoiler + go to C:\Program Files\LoL\League of Legends\RADS\solutions\lol_game_client_sln\releases\0.0.0.105\deploy\DATA\CFG or where you installed your lol and open the file "input.ini" and overwrite the files: evtCastSpell1=[Shift][q] evtCastSpell2=[Shift][w] evtCastSpell3=[Shift][e] evtCastSpell4=[Shift][r] evtSmartCastSpell1=[q] evtSmartCastSpell2=[w] evtSmartCastSpell3=[e] evtSmartCastSpell4=[r] this way you can normal cast with shift. normally through the Ingame options you cannot rebind the keys like this i know this is somehow described in the Tech Support thread, but i didn't find it at first glance and it has too much information. Thought i'd write it down so someone with the same problem can profit. | ||

Don't smartcast veigar's stun. It's absolutely possible to hit a Veigar stun with smartcast spot on. It's just pretty damn hard to get used to it. Just like you can get used to the travel times of Ashe/Ezreal ult to hit targets 3000+ range away. Actually I guess that you HAVE to learn how to hit Veigar stun without being able to check the range helper if you want to be able to Flash-Stun-Burst. If you have enough time to look at the marker, reposition it and then cast, the enemy has enough time to Flash away. | ||
