[Patch 1.0.0.131: Ahri] General Discussion - Page 135
Forum Index > LoL General |
Want to rage about your latest loss? Use the QQ thread. If you whine in GD, you'll get warned. ===== + Show Spoiler + If your [Stream] thread was moved to the general TL Stream subforum (aka SC stream land), find your thread and PM it to me and I'll move it back to LoL territory. I can argue with staff that moving a non-SC thread into a SC subforum is just asking for that thread to get buried. - Neo, Dec. 15 2011, 6:33 KST I have admin approval. I'll be moving LoL streams back to the subforum. Stream name will be based on Summoner name. - Neo 7:07 KST

I don't disagree with the spirit of holding high-profile streamers to higher standards, but I do disagree with being wishy-washy about it. If they really are going to make a big deal about holding streamers to higher standards, then they should formalize said standards and enforce them, rather than just using the idea of it to ban high Elo streamers seemingly on a whim. It's pretty rare that such a high profile streamer trolls that hard, but yea obviously there is going ot be some element of luck. You know that Riot is going to hold you to higher standard and will do controls from time to time. This was also something that was widely announced. For example if Oddone calls someone a retard there isn't going to be a thread about it. If you do something stupid that gives you alot of attention, expect a ban. Otherwise yea you MIGHT get away with your everyday trash, but there could always be a rioter watching. That is what you want to convey.

If they happen to see you troll, they ban you. Do you expect them to patrol all the streams 100%?

I just don't think trying to scare people by being vague and arbitrary about when you're watching and what you can be banned for is the right way to go about it. IMO it's much better to lay down a strict set of rules when you want to be stricter with high-profile streamers.

They have done that. This is not the first time a streamer has been banned because of actions on their stream, so not only is there precedence, but there is also the quote someone mentioned earlier, by Riot themselves, that they will hold streamers accountable for what goes on in game on their streams. I see nothing wrong with this situation and the way it was handled, and I'm about as anti-Riot as it gets so that's gotta be worth something. This type of enforcement happens in practical real life situations all the time, it's a huge part of a deterrent based system of law/punishment.

Something like this would take manpower to maintain. It would be beneficial, it's just not a priority.

Like saint can be a dick through what he says on stream, but there is not a single game I've ever seen him play where he wasn't legitimately trying to win before that game. He might pick something like jungle nidalee or jungle kayle, but he ACTUALLY DOES SHIT. It's not like some retarded troll who randoms, dies to jungle creeps, and goes "HERP DERP SORRY, I'M BAD" then proceeds to feed double buff to enemy's AD carry for free just to troll saying "sorry, i don't know how to jungle x champ, huehuehue." It's him trying to win but having fun and trying to be entertaining while doing it. There is a hugeeee difference between those 2 things. Most of solo q are the trolls and SHOULD be banned. Saint is a lot different from those guys. He had literally 1 game doing what millions of player do daily in solo q, and gets punished for it. =/ If you're going to enforce your rules, then do it to the worse cases first.....get rid of the morons who troll constantly trying to lose, curses in all chat, yells racial slurs in all chat, intentionally feeds, etc. -_-

However, if someone trolls you in your game, that frustration is more likely to cause you to troll next game than if you saw it on saint's stream. The probably won't do it right away, but any pattern of seeing high profile people trolling unpunished just encourages others to troll at some point. Riot has no word to say on this and has no reason te by harsher on pros. I'm pretty sure they don't care whether you're pro or not, but rather whether you're a notable figure (aka lots of viewers).

I think she is hard to place in a teamcomp. She loses to a lot of top lanes and mid lanes, takes forever to jungle, and can get zoned without the right support when bot. Still a really strong champ, but you have to be careful because if you get a bad lane match up you can be in big trouble.
