Hard engages counter him hard. (ashe, amumu, etc) he's like a better leblanc mixed with a better anivia on account of you can't push on him because he can clear a creep wave from inside his fountain mixed with a better vlad because you can't assasinate him either thanks to his passive but yeah, you were close

If the enemy team can't force the fight off a tower (sup having baron) they almost automatically lose.

He really feels like a champion that EU would enjoy more than US, since he's hella good in a double-AP team-comp that don't rely on bruisers and thus have no real incentive to get into the other team's face.

I believe it is best to take 3 points in strength of spirit, and build a catalyst first (you can start boots, mana gem, or dorans ring). This gives incredible sustain. Your next buy is entirely game dependant, but should be along the lines of RoA (if you skip this get banshee's veil after an ap item or two), Mejai's(only if owning your lane and have multiple kills, or forced the enemy solo'r back so many times you've a huge cs advantage), rabadon's because we go 0/9/21 we need to buy void staff for that extra magic penetration. If you want cdr get something along the lines of Codex after a Rabadon's, or frozen heart vs multiple attackspeed ad compositions

You really need siege breakers to fend him off properly. Nidalee loves Xeraths on enemy teams. Siege up? Have a spear.
