I guess the reasoning for this is the same as for naming the first X weeks of season2 "preseason" - because Riot wants to give huge announcement with a lot of stuff that already is here but they won't release it since they want season2 to have a lot of new stuff (which actually won't be new, just delayed >.<) | ||

Dota2 launched? Release Project Shiny (assuming its not Dominion). Everyone keeps saying riots waiting for dota2 to do something, but I'm not convinced. Half the teams we saw at Gamescon split after the tourny. Doesn't that mean anything to people who fan boy about better play and competitiveness? | ||

On average you will find 2% of the playerbase on a forum. So even if an entire forum is saying "fuck this shit ima go swap to Dota2" and they would actually all do it then they would still only lose 2% of their playerbase. The vast majority of players frankly don't care much for competitive gaming. They play a game they like and that's it. Even if you have bronze you are like in the top 10% of players. That other 90% probably doesn't even know what Dota 2 is. It's similar in the MMO genre where every new game seems to be crowned the WoW-killer. The truth is that only a small minority is willing to swap games. Most of the playerbase is gonna remain where they are. I don't recall any game in history that has ever "killed" another game in the same genre. Perhaps sequels have that effect but i can't really think of any competing games that managed to flat out bring the other to ruin. | ||

I like the changes the LoL made from DotA, and while I didn't touch LoL until a couple months ago because of my hatred for DotA, I surprisingly found LoL to be vastly more fun. Flatter power curves, a newbie levelling system, f2p IP based transactions, more defined map objectives, brush, summoner skills, more creeps/minions, less buggy crap - everything that DotA 2 fanboys dislike about LoL, I love, so I frankly don't give any shits for DotA 2. | ||

Tyler though is far too awesome at SC to play LoL. Though I mean I guess he could if he wanted to but honestly, he's the guy who won a TSL. The guy who when he's on he just crushes everyone. Support him no matter what but yeah SC2 too good game to play. Though I think it's a hidden fantasy of mine for him to be like go to an MLG or ESL and win in both games. That'd just be awesome. | ||
