The math for scaling mp5 vs flat is similar. Though scaling mp5 'breaks even' around level 6, the net benefit doesn't kick in till level 9 or so when the lost mana from level 1-5 is accounted for. If you're of the opinion that games are won or lost in the first 15 minutes it's difficult to argue in favor of scaling runes. There is also some question in regards to rounding error when maximizing returns from runes. It's not clear where and how numbers get rounded between the stats shown per rune, the totals on each rune page, your in-game character screen, and the actual in-engine equations. | ||

Scaling vs Flat is all about how much use you'll get out of them and the break-even point. Jungler fights are almost always in the favor of the jungler (2v1, 3v2, etc) and junglers are almost always front-line champions. | ||

It's merely at the time I bought the flat mr first as I spent alot of time in lane worrying about how to kill ap's at early levels. It works fairly well in that case but for jungling the mr/lvl is going to most likely work out best for you unless the game ends at the or shortly after twenty minutes. | ||
