brand is very strong at all times

Something new I found out. Apparently sometimes ashe bot in co-op games rushes manamune. Who programmed that? lol

first of all cait does not have that problem at all with her range and jump she's a beast lategame as much as she is early game
and no brand does not have that problem either, in fact lategame his threat level is monumental, as if you eat a single W you can be looking at 1/3-1/2 of your health gone. playing against brand requires constant vigilance lategame

Hopefully Talon can jungle decently. I know he's fairly potent solo top. :3 Jingling Skarner = doing it wrong. Way, way wrong. How do you do skarner right, then? Because honestly outside of that one Grassy vid I've never seen a skarner amount to anything. Does crap DPS, no zone control/range/initiation, and doesn't have much utility. Your gap closer is breakable, if you're not within 150 range of your target none of your skills will hit, and if you're not auto attacking everything has a wicked longer cooldown. In my eyes his weaknesses just pile up on each other and he doesn't have any strengths whatsoever. I've watched Dan Dihn and Shushei stream him but I'm simply not impressed by them or by any of the lower elo skarners I've ever met, including ones that got solo lane farm. I'm narrowing down builds for him, suffice it to say EVERYONE is playing him wrong atm. I promise ill write a guide when I'm more confident in my findings.
You're getting my hopes up but I'm not holding my breath.
Yes my description is accurate.

As someone who took both an argumentative class and a game design class, let me weigh in.
By argue, it means that you need to be able to point out ideas that may or may not work and defend your own. However, you also need to be able to recognize bad ideas of your own and be willing to let them go. Even if you think that it's the greatest idea in the world, if people poke holes in a design, you need to be able to say "ok, we're not going to do this".
You also really need to work well with others. Unless you've shipped dozens of titles and are an acclaimed designer, you're NEVER going to have the last say on anything by yourself. You will always be part of a team.
You also, as the designer, need to be able to communicate with the programmers and artists in a manner that both can understand and agree on. Programmers and artists never see eye to eye (logic vs aesthetics, that sort of thing), so you need to realize the constraints of both teams and work with and around it.
There is no job where you can just sit around and pitch ideas. You're going to be working on something every step of the way, and you may be part of another team as well. People look up to you to make decisions and give answers, but also get ideas to solve problems.
Honestly, it's what I want to do as well. But I'm a programmer, so I'm going to be starting elsewhere. If you're serious about going into game design, there are some steps you should take:
1) I'd say watch Extra Creditz, which was a game development based webseries, but the episodes went kaput. They used to be on the Escapist, try to find em. They have a Youtube page now, but not all the vids are there.
2) Read about this stuff. Anything you can: books, blogs, magazines. It's not what a lot of people think. Like I said, there is no "idea guy" job. Yes, you'll come up with ideas for games, but you need to see them through, every step of the way. Characters, story, plot, combat system (if applicable), art style, level system, rewards, weapons (if applicable), skills, enemies, and much, much more. It's a long process, so get started.
3) Play games critically. Not just sit down and play for fun (do that too), but also look at them closely. What works? What doesn't work? What feels off? What mechanic did you like? Are the controls solid, or can you think of a more fluid way to do it? Think about it like you're actually looking for things to criticize.
4) Along the same line, don't just play games you like. Play EVERYTHING. Sports, shooters, RTS, MOBA, RPG, MMO, puzzle, action adventure, visual novels, anything. You can't just work on your favorite type of game most of the time, you need to make what you're going to make. Like I said, you don't get the only say, and sometimes you won't be on a team that makes what you want.
5) Finally, come up with a lot of ideas. Keep a notebook or USB with all of them. Every time you think you have an idea, write it down. Get a character or two. The main idea, mechanics, that "hook" that makes it interesting in your mind. And don't be afraid of criticism. You should show them off to people, and if they say they don't like it, don't get offended. Ask for opinions on everything.
... That was longer than I thought it'd be -_-;

Long but good, I totally agree, people take game design for granted but it's hard as shit. There's a reason why accomplished and successful game design people are paid big bucks by all sorts of companies.

so i know i've mentioned this before probably several times but
my two best ideas for LoL that haven't been implemented yet (get on it MoonBear)
paying RP for a hard elo reset on your acct (riot would double their income from bads seriously, and without affecting the higher level play) snowball boots
SERIOUSLY WHAT DO I HAVE TO DO TO GET THESE
|
oh my god. I would LOVE snowball boots. Id get them every game. Even if they gave you negative movspeed til 6 stacks.
|

Oh my goodness snowball boots best idea ever. Even if they'd never be used in a real capacity like Leviathan...since that item is still in the game I say why not?
|
Just say no to snowball boots
EDIT: dude they should have snowball boots that get a stack when you run like a mile or something...lol

what they really need to implement is guilds or clubs or teams or whatever the fuck you want to call it. how is that not in the game yet -_- team ladder would be much more interesting and get a lot more play time then simply "arranged 5s"
