As a Trynd player, I'm interested in actually playing him now too. With Bloodlust giving AD and not Crit Damage now, and Trynd getting Crit Change based on Fury (rather than health), if my Crit Damage runes will be worth it now?

It'll be mathematically worth it, but tbh Tryndamere will be 100% dumped into the jungle, where his change will actually increase his performance (perpetual 35% crit chance and fury being easier to maintain than bloodlust stacks).

Since he's going to be jungling the whole time, you'll probably take attack speed runes...?

uhmm new trynd clears jungle slower than old trynd, just saying

The spin nerf hurts his clearing speed, but I think he'll also be safer to jungle and his ganks will be more potent coming out of his jungle with full fury instead of nothing.

It's not just the spin nerfs, but the Bloodlust/Battle Fury changes. Old Tryndamere could potentially have +40 AD, +36% Crit Damage and +50% Crit at level 1. New Tryndamere caps at +20 AD and +35% Crit (no Crit Damage).

The old bloodlust didn't give all that at level 1...at least, I don't think it did because that's the stuff he'd get with level 5 bloodlust no?

He wouldn't have +50% crit unless he was seriously wounded, and he would need all his Bloodlust stacks for the AD and Crit Damage.

I think the old bloodlust was like

3AD per stack and then 1.5 / 2.25 / 3 / 3.75 / 4.5% crit damage per stack.

8x bloodlust would be giving 24AD and 12% crit damage, but since you'd be eating up bloodlust while jungling you don't get the max bonus until you're halfway done clearing the camp.



The current tryndamere keeps his 35% crit chance from camp to camp and while ganking or in a jungle fight. It's quite nice at least in my opinion, and this way you don't feel stupid for buying survivability items.

5 AD per stack at all levels. 1.5 / 2.25 / 3 / 3.75 / 4.5% Crit Damage. It's still in the wiki history and the LoL main page if you need to check. So yes I goofed and it's only 12% Crit Damage at level 1, but 40 AD at level 1 is entirely accurate.

That Old Tryndamere had to have stacks/be wounded for any of this is fairly irrelevant since it's (almost) equally applicable to New Tryndamere's weaker bonuses. The bottom line remains that New Tryndamere's bonuses are weaker and his jungle is weaker as a result. Stonewall has an entire thread detailing his struggles getting New Tryndamere to work.

Edit: It's pretty sad that mobafire is living in a world before Lux, because that was the patch that upped it to 5 AD (it was previously 3).

The last Bloodlust change prior to this one, at least from what I've found, had:
v1.0.0.103:

IDK if they changed it afterwards.

Ok, after playing a game with Tryndamere on US, I conclude that he deals 0 dmg. Gbye trynd.

JUST IN, new trynd has infinite sustain in lane. If you activate Q without rage, it'll give you hp equal to the amount of AP you have. Not to mention, E also works with AP. does this mean hybrid trynd? Will try.

with just hextech gunblade, you can clear a wave in one E. Crit comes from rage now, so automatic 35 percent.

If you do the old I.edge / PD or ghostblade build with the new Trynd you'll probably crash and burn pretty hard though since the old trynd is obviously a stronger champ with those.



To clarify my point:

If you compare the old trynd and new trynd, the old one is MUCH stronger when he's down to under 50% HP, but the new trynd is stronger until then.

Old trynd at 100% had a potential bonus of 10% crit chance and 40AD + 36% crit damage bonus; however, the crit damage is fairly gimped here since he doesn't have jack for crit % (not taking account of items yet)

New trynd at 100% has a potential for 35% crit chance and 24AD right off the bat so he can build much tankier and still be an effective DPS.

If you built the old tryndamere tanky, he's pretty easy to ignore. Not quite for the new one.

Is it just me or is Riot trying to turn every melee dps champ into tanky dps -.-

Tryn now has retarded sustain in lane with AP runepage, but does no damage (at least comparatively to old tryn) and will probably be better off built tanky-ish -.-;

If AP Trynd becomes the new norm, I'm done with him.

Does anyone know if level 3 R gives Trynd full Rage? It used to give him full Bloodlust, but IDK if they changed that.
