For example, I havent really figured out if awareness (+5% xp with 3 points) is really worth sacrificing strength of spirit in some cases, or whether greed is actually good.
iirc, awareness lets you hit level 2 one creep before your lane opponent in a solo lane will. the difference between level 2 and level 1 is fucking huge, as you have literally twice the damage output at level 2, and often with the right summoners/spell combinations you can get a kill at level 2 if your opponent is still 1 (i.e. alistar, tristana, leblanc, corki, champs that have burst at level 2 that take ignite)
masteries that are mathematically sound are: Greed utility mastery (idr if that's waht it's called. but the 21st point in util. the summoner reduction one) movespeed mastery awareness strength of spirit (used to be. idr now if it's considered average or not) 15% magic pen good hands defensive mastery 21 defense all CDR masteries
masteries that are worse than they seem: perseverance (awful) 21 offense (lethality? havoc? idr what it's called but only applies to base damages, not item damages) ardor (bad) vet scars most of the offensive tree
Havoc is actually ok on champs that have AD scaling abilities, because it's bugged to multiply the total AD scaling (not just 5% on the base) for the ability.
So who's a good champion to learn for solo queue. Preferably capable of duo laning so I don't have to get in an epic bitchfest with teammates over why I deserve a solo.
Poppy. I'd say lux is nice since she can solo or duo, but I find that you're not going to be able to do much if your team is bad since she's so squishy. Shen/janna work too but they do less damage than the above and you generally need to rely way too much on your bad team.

Lol who the fuck are you jungling against?
If you spend that much time trying to gank, I'm going to have wriggles and pink waaaaay before you and I'm going to have half the map warded + a free drag if you aren't successful.
i literally get 2-3 gank attempts before clearing my side of the map (30% of the time second blue is up before i take red the first time), and i always take dragon at 6, ALWAYS. no matter what level game i'm playing. 1200, 1600, tourney games, custom games, maybe i'm just a really good jungler \o/
Nah, that pretty much confirms that you're jungling against derps, or against people who are using really slow junglers.

I second Shen. Hes easy to learn, not very hard to use, and until lategame he fairs pretty well in lane. Once it hits lategame though you need to just focus on protecting the carry.
Might also want to try Jarvan. Really strong at bot, solo or jungle, and he has good range, cc, and damage; overall really scary. Also not banned as regularly (yet?) as Shen.

chogath also does all of this, plus chogath is more QT~~

Less trolling BlackPaladin, u noob moderator.
One joke and now I'm a noob mod? You're the one banned! Real. Need to take me less serious. I play LoL literally only to have fun at this point. Don't even understand why I play with Tap, other than to troll him. ^^ I don't understand those ELO hogging players. ;o
Also, Rawrzrrrrrrrrrrr #1 carry. Always run, never fight. :D
edit: Whoa. How did CLG lose that badly that game? What happened? o_O

Did you still not learn yet that Janna carries real hard in solo Q? (at least <1750)
I personally find it MUCH harder to play Poppy with a bad team than Janna. I just never get a good window to engage as Poppy in those games.
