Philo is just really strong for roamers who need mana regen (AKA Taric and Cow) because it means they don't have to go back every 10 seconds after a gank.

Philo's don't stop burst or high damage of any kind. They're good for laning, and then once teamfights start they are pretty worthless (unless you have an inventory full of them and can run in and out to take and deal damage). They aren't nearly as retarded and hog stacking in lane was on bulky champions.

Philo may be over efficient, but that's because hp and mana regen suck as stats. I would be very surprised if they did a large nerf to philo stone that would make people stop wanting it (more than say a total of 5 regen nerf total).

Imo hotshotgg has a really good point and it would make the game alot better if Dragon was more important and more difficult to kill.

CLG don't give a fuk about Dragon atm. Better to let Chauster free farm top, take top tower, then afk farm some more.

Exactly, if Dragon gave a tiny buff like say, movespeed + hp regen and more exp and gold, but was significantly harder to kill(so that you'd need almost whole team), the game would be alot more active instead of a constant farmfest

The dragon change they recently did made it less important early game so the idea was you get more gold over the course of the game if you control dragon but you get less exp from killing it as a team so it's more gold oriented so isnt change working as intended? I personally think old dragon felt more game changing than new dragon.

dragon's also alot more difficult to kill now and the other team gets more exp and probably just as much gold by just staying in lane and farming..

So basically like the way the game was several months ago, before they buffed Dragon to make sure that almost no junglers could solo it at 4 anymore?

The problem is that Dragon isn't worth enough to warrant having your entire team come to do it. The bounty is probably fine, but if all your laners have to come for you to have a chance at securing Dragon, it's not worth the effort anymore.

If they want you to have to have all 5 team members to do Dragon, that's fine, but Dragon needs to be more rewarding. Trading top tower + a bunch of farm in all 3 lanes is not worth 1 Dragon. And if they don't want to up the Dragon bounty, then they should reduce the effort needed to do it.

Basically, yes. Maybe not level 4, but definitely 6+ madreds should be able to solo it. Making it harder to kill means more passivity, not less, since the increased risk means that getting caught doing it EXTREMELY bad for the aggressive team. The weaker drag, the more its going to be done, and the more flow there will be around dragon early.

Besides, riot is already reversing most of the changes morello brought when he first came, it isnt like drag shouldnt be the same.

I'd say it's more like an overly efficient laning item that gives as much mp5 as 9 whole seals at level 18 and pays for itself.

Basically, with wriggles and heart of gold being taken down a notch, philo stone really does move up the ladder a tons.

Catalyst covers the "overly efficient laning item that gives a ton of mana restore" department pretty well. Doesn't pay for itself, but lots of the champs that would want it have a use for RoA or Banshee's.

I think Philo fills the niche for champs that want that health/mana regen, but for which Catalyst isn't necessary or practical (off the top of my head, that includes Poppy, Lux, and most support champions that don't get levelups often enough for Cata to be practical).

Remember when the game was 90% decided by the level 1 dragon fight?

I think it would be interesting if dragon value increased as the game went on.

K i just have to rant. I am freaking cursed here. First two days of ranked, i go 3-7. Every single game is a huge imbalance, and it's never in my favor. I always get stuck with complete feeders and we end up going 2-15 in the first 15 minutes, 2 kills both mine ofc. It's not just a couple games, it's EVERY SINGLE GAME cept one, that's 9/10 games. The only way I can win is by carrying the team into a huge comeback. I don't understand why I can't ever get the good side, or at least have even teams. Does matchmaking hate me that much?

dunno man. I'm on my 6th or so account that I'm boosting to 1500 elo. Just play some one who can snowball really well/gank well. If that doesn't work then you should re-evaluate your own skill. Then again I might just be getting lucky each time...
