my god the new infinity edge is dumb, just carried a team that fed all lanes so so hard with ashe. Didn't take any particular skill on my part, just farmed and didn't feed and they didn't have an iedge carrier so I raped.

IMO riot needs to take ~2 months off from balancing and releasing new champions and just let the game sit and see where its at. Same with client updates and the like. Just take their time to go over the inner workings and see what can be improved, what bug fixes can be done and try to get it as smooth as possible.

Similarly, balance needs some time to settle, especially with Dreamhack coming up. They did some pretty big things last patch, and the full effects wont be visible for quite a while. This would actually be a perfect time to go back and start to look at champs like GP and Jax who need some love.

But hey, this is RIOT. Expect a new 6.3 champ in 2 weeks, with more odd nerfs and buffs.

i'm so confused. no matter how you look at it, brand's design is just. meh.is just a better annie (just played against one). and annie was good enough as it is. (<- misunderstanding in brand's abilities) what was the character development team thinking?

The idea is that Annie is a lot more durable and has reliable AoE stuns. Brand is propably better right now due to his numbers but he is more combo reliant.

I don't know how people can make the comparison between a caster with all damage and next to no utility, and one of the highest-utility casters in the game.

idk. a sizeable aoe and an ult that bounces is pretty reliable to me. if they actually did stun. >> should read char descriptions more carefully.

None of those are stuns. And having CC is a big deal in this game, especially when, as an AP carry, you're expected to bring a bunch to the table.

Comparing Brand to Annie is like comparing Kog-maw to Ashe. None of them have escapes, and Kog-maw/Brand gets huge range and a ton of damage (including a % max HP component). Ashe/Annie trades out that damage for high utility/CC, and some of the best initiating skills in the game.

Likewise, I don't see people taking Brand in competitive play any more than they pick Kog-maw now unless his damage numbers are really off the charts.

No the ult without the passive bounces so slow that it makes it easy to break besides being random targeting. His AoE is either delayed or reliant on having hit his skillshots beforehand. It´s not awfull but Annie is definetly more reliable.

.... oh hm. i could have sworn it was all his abilities that activated the stun (or at least the pillar of fire as well). my bad. i retract my statement.

still, the character design is pretty unoriginally meh. (which is more what i was leaning towards anyways than actual gameplay.)

even in a teamfight scenario? where most of the time 2-4 champs are clumped together? i doubt that matters. sure you can't initiate with it like annie, but it sounds pretty effective as a nuke.

He doesn't do enough damage to merit taking over the heros he's actually similar to (Veigar Leblanc) both of whom are superior at nuking the shit out of one hero and kick in faster, and his AoE is trumped by stuff like Swain Annie Ryze, if you want to look at his %-based and say "but he can killz tanks" (hint: he can't) you might as well take Malzahar, given that that hero is strong as hell anyways.

Individually thanks to his passive he has some of the most fascinating skills in the game but because of skillshot (misses a lot) and lack of CC he just feels really meh. It's... it's like Cho'gath, is who Brand is like, only taking out the CC and free HP and replacing the true damage single-target nuke with an AoE thing.

He doesn't have as much burst or CC as any of the heroes you named, but it does seem like he has the best potential to deal a ridiculous amount of damage to more than one enemy while kiting.
But why?
