Some changes are temporary, some are indeed optimal and get rolled into how the game plays, regardless of how its shifting. Jungling is an example of this. It's not like jungling became popular by some metagame shift, and then faded out. People realized that having buff/dragon control, XP/gold advantage, and early map control just outweighs the risks of having your solo top totally zoned. | ||

I meant that it in an uncoordinated team sense, a la solo q, where communication is limited and some teams are hard enough to coordinate with a 1-1-2 jungle, a 1-1-1 jungle roam might be beyond the solo q capability at this point in lol. In a coordinated team sense, I definitly a 1-1-1 jungle roam would work against the current 1-1-2 jungle as long as the roam was in constant communication and knew where he or she needed to be. It is very possible that in time this could work in solo q, but at the moment i dont think it can. As for the 1-1-1 jungle counterjungle vs 1-1-1 jungle roam, that actually makes gameplay much more interesting. The trade off between messing with a jungle or adding extra ganking power vs more defense oriented play. Kinda makes me giddy just thinking about it. | ||

Zil's abilities are pretty awful in a mass AoE meta because half of his damage gets left behind in a burst AoE situation and his E/R aren't being used to anywhere near their full effectiveness. He's a great champ, but he really had no place around the AoE fuckfest that was Morg / Amumu / Kennen / Vlad / etc., because his skillset doesn't deal with AoE well. | ||

In dota, unless your ult makes you invulnerable for 5 seconds you will explode in 2 melee hits lategame and in 2 skills and 3-4 melee hits for the rest of the game, so basically killing stuff is way easier and people actually lose gold from their current gold pool when they die. Basically in dota for some characters it's easier to kill people than to kill creeps, and that is often the reason why you see crazy shit like roamers or 2 people mid. To the above, Doublelift, Reep and co are imo all stellar roamers that need a solid top team that will allow them to roam and not force them into playing taric or swain. Bryden7 didn't invent solo top malphite, europe did. But yeah, something gets posted on the forums and people go crazy, this isn't news. I foresee teleport being used on magma chamber since the designs that were posted suggested that the TP pads would be nearly useless (basically you TP from the top entrance of your base to the bot entrance and vice-versa). With the map being bigger and all TP looks like an interesting pickup. | ||

I should have made it more clear, but what I meant is that his post popularized on NA what EU knew to be good. It's just a good example of non-CLG popularity shifts. Many players have their own twists and ideas on champs, and there's a LOT of obscure knowledge out there - I link people to TL for some champs because I have no idea if good guides or discussion even exist for them elsewhere. | ||
