I read what people say, I develop a deep hatred for humanity and all life forms on earth and since I'm only losing hidden elo I can grief the shit out of them without any regrets.

We don't currently have a Corki thread so I'll ask this here:
I've seen a lot of people recently (specifically Neo and Shake) advocate skipping Manamune on Corki in a duo lane. Can somebody explain to me how this build works? I tried this the other day in a game and even though I had my Triforce pretty early, I felt like I did no damage in the mid-game compared to having say Manamune + Sheen. It seemed like my doing damage relied on getting a Phage slow + full length Gatling which requires me to be pretty up close during fights.

No manamune means no mana so you can't spam. However, you can convert that 2K gold to like a faster sheen and maybe some dorans or faster trin and get higher dmg and burst out faster and you have more surv, but you can't spam shit.

triforce is more of a fighting build where the manamune/sheen build is more a poking build.
I feel like I do better with manamune/sheen/cleaver so I do that unless I have a soraka to babysit me in which case Ill switch over to my mana regen per 5 / level yellows and I can get away with that.

After the meta change I've transitioned to 2-3 dblades->phage->triforce and I think the main bonus is the extra 500 or so HP you have early aswell as your damage kicking in faster. After a while you don't even mind the missing mana because poking is useless with everyone having heals nowadays.

You should be doing MORE damage with this build but you won't be able to farm everything in 1 second as you'll need to be smart with your mana.

http://www.solomid.net/guides.php?g=2410
the point of the guide that answers your question:
You may wonder why the fuck I use manareg runes when every Corki normally builds Manamune? The answer is simple I dont use Manamune to sustain my mana, I use runes to do that which is the reason why I can focus on hard dps items and carry hard from the start while other corkis have to farm farm farm till they finally got their Trinity which is a complete waste of Corkis insane early burst he can show when you go early Trinity.
The armorpen runes should be obvious here and the hp is to dive in with valkirye and just scare them away without having to worry too much.
After several games playing without a Manamune, I am a believer that Corki's strength is playing him as a auto-attack based AD carry by stacking Doran's blade early, then Triforce. He hits so damn hard compared to the other ranged carries because of his passive.
"What do I build vs Corki? AH armor cause hes a ranged ad..oh wait he deals magic damage also....oh wait he deals true damage also...fuck..."
Awesome passive to shred everyone there is.
|
Why are apen runes obvious? Shouldn't it be smarter to run AD runes due to his passive?
wtf this guy runs ignite flash and 24 offense. No wonder he's eu.

The current meta makes this pretty hilarious. 2 ap + corki+support bot +ap jungle like mumu or nunu means you're 100% fine stacking hp/mr and reaching unkillable in ~6k work of items. Corki mixed damage is more a curse than a blessing in this situation.

God, is it possible the 1600-1700 elo range is full of the worst egomaniacs?
Just had a game with a Malz vs Kennen mid, Nid vs Udyr top. Kennen dc's about 10 mins into the game, Malz gets tower. Udyr is 2-0 at this point. Instead of ganking top or helping the jungler (who qq'd that he can't get it off successfully solo) all he did was flame the Nid for the entire game. When the udyr was 9-0 he first met him 1n1 and was like LOL GJ TOP FEED HIM MORE.
How hard is it to realize that the #1 goal of a won lane should be to help other lanes get back/win? :/

but canydpanda is SK right? they normally run wickd top who lanes irelia/trundle/udyr/etc so I dont think it's as negative as if it were M (formerly AAA) or fnatic.
at any rate corki with e, a triforce and red hurts. so too does corki with manamune/sheen/cleaver.
one is better for coordinated teams, one is better for crushing solo queue.

I can't think of a single hero besides urgot I like manamune on... including yorick. That item is such a huge trap/moneysink. There are only a very few heroes in this game that even have mana as a real cost in the midgame
|
yup, he's SK and I believe top 5 in solo queue. He plays all the ranged AD's practically the same way by DB stacking and rushing IE or Triforce.
