For my part the #1 thing I do as Malz is keep Kass honest against creep - if he goes for a last hit I'll fire off a denying Q; he can either eat the shot or miss his last hit. After a certain point if I know his mana can't handle it I'll also push a wave or two just to fuck with him.

When you're Kass though if you can mindgame enough Qs down then you'll pick up a health advantage pretty fast and start landing some random Q->Es (later in levels; early the low level E does nothing). This matchup is entirely footsies.
