Balance patch coming Wednesday

We’re about to release a new patch for Heroes of the Storm in order to apply a few balance changes to the Nexus. Check out the full patch notes below.

Battlegrounds

Warhead Junction

Reduced Nuke inner damage bonus from 100 to 50%
Time at which Nukes upgrade their damage changed from 14 to 18 minutes

Developer Comments: This is a temporary solution to prevent the Nuke Core rushes at the 14-minute mark. In a coming patch, we’ll likely be making further changes that makes Nukes gradually scale over time, so that they mirror the Core’s scaling over time.

Damage reduced by roughly 15%
Soul Harvest (Active)
Increased bonus per hero hit from 3 to 4%, and maximum from 15 to 20%

Level 20

Humongoid (R)
Cooldown increased from 20 to 25 seconds

Developer Comments: Right now Zombie Wall Talents are providing more utility and damage than the alternatives, which isn’t ideal. We’re providing buffs to Corpse Spiders, while also nerfing Gargantuan. In general we expect Nazeebo’s winrate to stay about the same (which is right in the middle), but increase the number of effective Talent options for different playstyles.

Developer Comments: We are happy with how Malfurion is now played after his changes, but he has come out a little too strong. We believe that his role as a sustained healing support should still be a primary strength, but we want to limit just how long he can keep his team going if he’s spamming his Regrowth on cooldown. We are also cutting Rampant Growth as it pushed Malfurion towards being a burst healer, which is against the role that he should be filling for his team. We also like that Entangling Roots allows Malfurion to make plays and initiate fights, but it’s a little too good right now at securing kills. We’re slightly increasing its initial delay to be between where it is now and where it used to be, which should give opponents more of a chance to dodge the root.

Developer Comments: We’re reverting some of the previous Zarya buffs to bring her power level back to where we want. We’re also nerfing the benefits of Maximum Charge, now that getting high Energy isn’t as difficult as it was previously. We’ve also buffed Demolitions Expert and Speed Barrier, as they were substantially underperforming when compared to the other Talents on their tiers.

Really surprised they didn't increase the length of the quest talent on Zarya's level one, a suppose a nerf is a nerf

So we are testing this internally, but it is not intended for this patch and will be reverted before next week (this is a big change to make prior to BlizzCon World Finals).

A change like this requires many accompanying changes (even slight reworks to talents, etc, but needs some art support as well) to be properly done. Although no promises can be made about this, we're trying our best to make this happen! We know you all are/have been excited at the prospect of this change.

Sorry for the pump fake everyone, but there's a lot of work left to do on this. Thank you in advance for your understanding!

Guitar Hero on ETC getting buffed is pretty lulsy, considering it's the strongest talent. Well waranted Echo Pedal nerf tho.

Heroes should steal the themed skin idea from LoL. Add a music video with a cg trailer and everyones gonna buy and play. But I guess that is only good if you have a giant playerbase. But I want Magic Girl Chromie T.T.

Samuro seems to be in the situational pick region(to many hard counters imo ), with skill unlocking more situations nice. And if everything fails you can atleast do camps without any effort.

You're joking, but I really wish something like that. I mean, using cleanse is an advanced move and using it should have a high visual impact. Also a few times I see people walk casually out of my Mosh Pits and it always feels odd.

Serious question: Why is Murky not banned from Ranked Play atm?
I mean, there are heroes that are bad. Murky has always been one of them. But since the Octograb nerf... murky is not just "bad", he literally does nothing. I hate it when he gets drafted in my team, because it just means you gotta play 4v5 :/
