The new Zeratul is really cool but his talent diversity is terrible, got to be among the worst in the game now. I hope Rewind doesn't get removed one day but it's hard to see how you can compete with it.

This is an old video from 2015 so the build and meta comments aren't valid, but it's still a good guide on proper ranged assassin positioning

Many compositions are possible but the general solid composition that you see played most in almost every high level game is the following:
Basically it comes down to having at least 2 front liners, 1 of them a tank with the other often more damage/cc focused and then a healer and ranged damage to help out with the last spot being anything. Naturally you can find exceptions to this composition, but this is the standard. Draft towards this composition as well as possible, this means it's helpful to fill out the (near) mandatory roles like a tank and full support in time so the last player isn't forced into a narrow selection. After all this player may be terrible at this role, refuse or not even realize he has to draft it so check what he intends to do before you pick. One very common 'mistake' in hero league is to overdraft ranged damage. The traditional 'carry' role from other MOBA's is extremely popular and usually over drafted and prioritized too highly. In recent high level pro games for example there was almost no game where 3 ranged damage heroes were drafted. Don't draft this role too much, it really limits your choices. Three ranged dps, 1 tank, 1 healer is tough to win with, and even taking the second ranged dps makes some teams hardly work anymore (like abathur for example). Often in hero league the players think 1 tank, 1 support and the rest can be anything is good. Picking an off-support or off-tank/bruiser can help make a balanced comp that you can't always count on random team mates to do. Besides composition there are a few other qualities you want to keep in check and often want to balance on your team:

Zarya should be out within the next two weeks, so it'll just be Cho missing. Will post again when I get that up.

This guide collection is now linked on the New Player Guide that is pinned on the right side of the HOTS Reddit guide that I am maintaining (which I didn't name, it's actually more of a Guide and Resource Collection for players of all skill levels).
