Looks like I may have been mistaken and you pay for custom heroes rather than hero unlocks, so less p2w than lol for noobies. I'm sure blizzard will find a way though.

Also, shared experience is immediately exposed to be ridiculous. How bout those 5-vs-5 teamfights at level 1 where one entire team simultaneously gets to level 2 before the entire other team. Derp.

Seems like the recent trend in gaming (although Blizzard was way ahead of their time, look at the original Diablo, it's more or less a simplified roguelike) is to expand a player base to include people who aren't fans of the genre. Pretty sure people who love Dota will hate this, people who hate the genre might give it a shot. Then again I'm pretty sure if they essentially made Dota with Blizzard heroes it wouldn't be a success.

Those cosmetic skins are totally pay2win. So, by your logic those cosmetic skins in LoL and cosmetic items in dota 2 are pay2win. /facepalm

I'd say that bet is in everyone else's favor. A lot of people have given it a shot at one point or another. I don't see what you're actually defending though, if people say it looks like a League clone to them, then it looks like a League clone to them.

But experts like this is what makes game threads fun to read. Either way I can play the MountainKing, better not have Lich kings on my team though, never forget never forgive.

Literally every skill has a LoL or DOTA equivalent so far (I've seen Jarvis skills, Lux ulti, Ahri nukes, Demon Hunter is almsot exactly Vayne, etc.). Not that a game has to innovate to be successful but give credit where it's due. HotS simply copied pasted most of its design. It's also visually indistinguishable from League. It's not really a death knell for the game but it's hardly arguable. On March 14 2014 13:32 FeyFey wrote: and its safe to assume Dota2 probably looks like a LoL clone to them as well. This game isn't LoL but you can't really blame anyone for thinking it looks a lot like it after they see a dozen LoL skills from watching half an hour of a stream. Not to mention teamfights have the same structure.
