Yeah, el nexo played that kind of anub arak yesterday aswell. Seems like it is making a comeback.

With zeratul banned, you can choo choo motherfucker even the tank with that kind of burst. Lucifron was getting creamed at the taketv brawler tournament finals.

If you look at Anub's kit and HP scaling he is most certainly NOT a warrior. He has an HP pool more similar to Thrall and Kerrigan than someone like Sonya or Tyrael.

And Sonya / Tyrael are considered pretty squishy for warriors too.

But it just made me think that the Blizzard categorizations are sometimes just misleading (i.e. - Tassadar / Tyrande). I know Sonya has good burst so it makes sense to play her as melee assassin. Does Anub have good burst though? Or is it more about his initiation / cc's?

With blood for blood and ulti he has decent damage. It just shows that tier lists are 100% silly right now because the game is far from being discovered entirely. Some months ago everyone though hammer was trash, now it's a top choice after valla and tychus (and even better than them on some maps). It seems like NA teams still think muradin is bad when he is clearly one of the best tank.

Comps have not been completely figured out yet either, we've seen double tanks, double healers, triple assassins etc etc and no-one knows what's better. E.T.C is a very special pick and can look completely op against setups with low burst/vulnerable to cc (I haven't seen that rehgar+malf+etc game but I can imagine the amount of healing...). Sooner or later people with also realize how op gazlowe is... until then, free points for me hehehehe.

Wanted to share a Lili build I made the other day that I've been having a ton of fun with. I'm open to suggestions and curious if anyone thinks it would be good in hero league (I just got level 30, need a few more heroes before I jump in).

WATER DRAGON HUSTLE

1. Gale Force (Increases Blinding Wind damage by 50%)
4. Mass Vortex (Increase number of cyclones from 2 to 4)
7. Pitch Perfect (After casting healing brew, it's cost is reduced by 10 mana for 6 seconds)
10.Water Dragon (key points: 45 second cooldown, 70% slow, low-moderate damage)
13.Surging Winds (20% ability power for each cyclone hit)
16.Herbal Cleanse (Clear all roots/silences etc. and gain 20% move speed)
20. Kung-Fu Hustle (Cooldowns regenerate THREE TIMES AS FAST while fast feet is active)

Okay, so I don't have any numbers on this, but here's how it works.

Up to level 20, you play pretty conservatively. You heal your team when you can, push lanes, and help out to the best of your ability.

Once you hit level 20, you become a demon. You cannot press the "Q" button faster than the GCD will allow you. All roots and effects on you are cleared with herbal cleanse every second. You move very fast. Water Dragon is cast twice every fight, if not three times, and when the enemy team is slowed down to 30% move speed for four seconds, it's very, very easy to survive.

Even in the middle stages of the game, I find water dragon to be very powerful. If there is another support on the team, I think lili as an offensive option is EXTREMELY good.

The main drawback of the build is you give up mana regeneration to be deadlier. I think that's okay. 30-60 seconds of this Lili is very, very powerful. And if it's 30 seconds, that means the enemy is focusing you, and you absorb all the damage WHILE doing damage, making it worthwhile. Pitch perfect helps alleviate the cost from spamming the heal. You never cast her serpent really.

I also find blinding wind, by hitting four targets and prioritizing heroes every time, is also very helpful as far as survivability goes.

I just tried this for one game and it feels like it suffers from the problems anyone would imagine:

--it's weak early game. in my view it's taking talents that benefit more from kung fu hustle, so before you have kung fu hustle, you're relatively weaker. the exception being lvl 16 talent, where two for one has better synergy with kung fu hustle
--it encounters mana problems. mid-game it's not so bad. you can have mana for all the important fights. but late game, the idea especially of using 3 water dragons in a single fight.. impossible. if you open with it, use your abilities constantly, then you may be able to end with a 2nd water dragon and then you'll be out of mana. i guess this fits with not playing lili as sustain though
--speaking of mana, 1000 cups is a super mana efficient heal. even when you go for healing and mana efficiency build (mana regen, healing over time, healing totem) you still find yourself using your ult just for mana efficient healing. any time you take water dragon, that's an indirect negative to your mana pool
--shake it off is almost a must-have talent against certain team comps. being forced into not taking pitch perfect is gonna be yet another blow to your output
--surging winds (gain ability power from blinding wind) synergizes best with 1000 cups. mass vortex + surging winds -> 1000 cups is the real power play here. blinding almost their whole team then doing a powered up 1000 cups

I think when you solo queue and get matched with a lot of tanks/supports, you can strongly consider building Lili for more damage. And she can do a surprising amount with her damage talents. But I'm not sure this build is the best way to go about it. I still think Lili is a hero where you mostly want to make every talent choice individually every single game.

Thank you for trying it out and giving some feedback!

I can see shake it off vs. certain comps where herbal cleanse wouldn't keep you safe (can't cleanse poly, stun, etc.). And without pitch perfect, yeah, mana really suffers. CC that eliminates Lili's control is the real crux of this build. But if they don't have those things, it might be really powerful since I think it would be very difficult to lock Lili down.

I never even thought of the 1000 cups + mass vortex + surging winds, but that's a pretty wicked combo. I admit, as you say, unless you have two supports or it's a super-small map or something, it's tough to imagine too many situations where water dragon hustle would be superior. 70-80% of games probably.

Which NA teams think Muradin is bad? I don't get why people are throwing that around. Most teams think he is a 3rd / 4th tank behind Arthas and Stitches and on par with the increasingly popular ETC. He's more or less valuable depending on comps. That's not weak.

Also ETC's emergence. With guitar hero and echo pedal, ETC has pretty good wave clear, decent self sustain and really good burst for a tank. In terms of burst damage, he's probably only second to Arthas while providing good utility. You get into melee range, AA swing, E instant swing, Q, and then W. They immediately take 300% AA damage, Q damage, W damage, 3-4 ticks of echo pedal, and ideally get pushed into a pretty vulnerable position. Another reason with he emergence is that he gets bolt at 20. Again, this is just like the case of Tyrael's return -- with the loss of resurgence, it actually matters what 20 talents the warriors have. Bolt is a great 20 talent and it works really well with mosh pit. If you think about comps, usually teams will run 2-3 interrupts. If you can bait 1 interrupt (like waiting for Tychus to Odin), bolt and mosh pit to catch another interrupt, and have a Nazeebo on your team, things get really ugly really fast.

Also, the Hyperion vs. Banshees choice. Banshee is generally a better choice. But, Hyperion actually is a better choice if you can force the enemy team to attack into a location. So, in other words, Sky Temple. It's also good on Garden where there are engagements around the terrors. I also don't know why people are talking about berserk here when bullseye is a must take talent.

I don't know why Blizzard doesn't release the game already, this Beta testing phase feels very polished and doesn't even feel like beta at all. The delay of official release is just going to kill the hype and excitement the fans have and bite Blizzard in the ass later.

The fact that you can BUY beta access means they're ready to officially launch the game ffs lol.

Blizzard doesn't release the game because it's still really unpolished and it feels like a beta.

You have no profile screen. How ridiculous is that?

You have no match history sceen outside of your replay menu.

You have no clans, no guilds, no team hubs.

You have no team league, no real solo queue, no real ranking system because everyone agrees HL is a joke.

You have no integrated communication system in a game where communication is everything.

You have placeholder icons for a lot of things.

You have placeholder talents on a lot of heroes and heroes that need reworks.

You have a myriad of bugs.

You only have 33 heroes (IIRC).

The competitive scene is still trying to find its footing.

The streaming community is still in its infancy.

It's not ready.

Have you tried the reconnect feature lately? The most obvious technical issue to show why the game isn't ready for launch. The official tech support forums are flooded with people complaining about performance issues (based on the last game I kickstarted that's supposedly the last thing you do, so they aren't ready until they tackle that).

Not to mention all the missing features Brian mentioned.

Yeah, "the game is finished" is a common misconception because the gameplay is very polish and mostly finished, however a lot of things surrounding the game are not, and one can't launch a game withouth those features.

So, i'll ask you guys something, what do you think the community section which is currently there but unnabailable will be? must be kind of important to have a place on the lower bar.

Its the map mechanic. It depends on the map, on dragon shire is who takes the dragon, on blackhearths is how many coins did you get, on garden and haunted its the skulls/seeds you gathered, and i have no idea how they quantify the sky temple ones, i guess the team who teld the temple for the most time?

But yeah, thats what it is, it can be a little confusing if you come from sc2 where mechanics mean like skill.

Has it been proven or announced that there's some limitations on teams getting ahead of their opponents?

Do you get less XP for hero kills when you are levels ahead compared to equal levels?

The team with less xp gets more and that increases by level difference. HotS has a strong comeback mechanic and matches can turn around with one good group fight, at least on the less snowbally maps.

Also according to the Q4 2014 earnings call "Heroes of the Storm has 9 million users registered for beta".
