He has 5 2-mana minions and 5 early removal spells coupled with his hero ability. That should be decent early. However he also lacks 4 drops which is a bit of an issue. He only really has Yeti, maybe Bite to remove your opponents 4, but Soul of the Forest and Spellbreaker are situational. If he has a decent start to 5 mana then he has a great late-game, but getting there will be a problem.

I had a run yesterday where within my first 4 picks I had Illidan, Ragnaros and Jaraxxus. I only went 9-3 because I suck :p
|
Just had my best run of 9-3 (started about 3 wks ago) with a spell heavy mage deck. The number of times I outstalled to grab a victory within one turn/topdecking with OP ice block is far too high (like 4 of my wins). 3 fireballs, 2 flamestrikes, 2 frostbolts, 1 blizz, 1 vaporize, 1 ice block, all combo with like 4 different divine shield monsters equals getting a newb like me past 5 wins.
Was about to get 10 (27-13 life with board control) encountering the exact same kind of removal-heavy mage deck except it had a fucking ysera in it LOL. Can't complain too much tho.

I cannot beat mage in arena. I have 60-70% against every other class according to my stats but I am 16% total against mage. Really need to fix that issue rofl, right now my arena success seems to depend on that more than anything else >_<
shaman - win mage - lose pally - win mage - lose mage - lose
run over, no gold or dust, just a card...betrayal T_T

My first ever 12-2, was a strong Mage draft, despite only having one 3-drop. It did however have 3 Flamestrikes, 2 Fireballs, 2 Mana Wyrms, 2 Frost Elementals, 2 Frost Bolts, Venture Co, Molten Giant and Ragnaros (who wasn't required for any win actually).
Both losses were games where I didn't get any Flamestrike for the first 15-18 or so cards.

My latest three arenas were 2-3, 3-3, and 0-3. And that's after 10-2 and 12-1 runs last night.
I have no idea what's going on, I drafted decent mage/pally/warlock decks, had OK tempo, but everyone was just playing insanely aggro as of this morning. Where they should trade, they don't, they just go for face. And it ends up working because I keep trading like an idiot. Is this the new arena meta on EU? Everyone will go for face except when getting rid of taunts?

+ Show Spoiler + I'm getting a good vibe from this deck. 7 cards to absolutely dominate the early game, 3 swipes, 2 keepers, 2 starfalls. Don't really like the silverback, but it was that or shieldbearer/moonfire @_@
First game vs warlock, not bad. Didn't really get very many minions on the board at any given time, but the ones I got I kept alive forever. With this many spells, and a few big minions to back up the lategame, doesn't really feel wasteful to trade card for card if it lets me maintain board control.

That deck looks like an easy 12-0 to me.
Just played against a Paladin that had at least 4 truesilver champions. GG

I just had a similar draft, not as many Claws but 4 swipes and an Ancient of War instead of Cenarius.
I ended up 11-3 after start 9-0. Lost 2 games against Warlocks that just kept adding pressure and had the right awnsers to my big minions. The second game especially was bad vs 2 Blood Imps + 2 Defender of Argus to make my aoe mood. The last game I lost vs a rogue because I drew my spells but not my good creatures. That actually might be a problem for a deck like this; if your all spells then you might have a hard time getting a creature out to pressure them with. Still, should be a good run. Gl hf!

One of the slowest decks I've ever played in arena, but my god does it have answers to everything. Only one game where I got somewhat low(sub 10), and even then I was behind an ironbark which finished the game.
Shoutout to Wreck, who added me after the game to ask if the deck was for real, and it is, although I did get lucky and wrath his first 3 minions, and clawed the fourth.
Whelp. Lost my first match druid vs. Druid. Somehow got 3 claws in my opening draw, and couldn't deal with a senjin efficiently, which probably lost me the match. That along with the beast coming out without swipe or a starfall in hand. This deck is probably weak to "early" big health minions, especially if a mix of wrath and claw don't come out.
2nd loss to a warlock, needed a swipe or starfall vs double blood imps(which he eventually sac'd), didn't get either somehow until it was too late.
3rd loss to paladin. Didn't draw the AoE cards that I needed, and this deck simply can't deal with too many big cards without absolute board control and a good set of cards. Once my ironbark got peacekeeper'd it was pretty much over. 9-3, and I don't think I played poorly in the losses. This deck simply doesn't have the cards to deal with big creatures without maintaining creatures on the board already.
EDIT: But I got baron geddon out of the card pack!!!!!

how does the matchmaking in arena works? i met the same opp twice in a row and 1-1 with him, immediately requeue to settle the score but meet other players =\

This is my most epic top deck Deathwing come back! This is why I never concede before I know they've got lethal on me. I had multiple Deathwing come backs on this arena run and went all the way to 11 wins.

I don't know how some of you guys are doing it, but I always have a hard time playing as Rogue in Arena. They are way too dependent on getting a lot of their class cards. Without enough Backstabs, Eviscerates, Deadly Poisons, it seems hard to win consistently. It's more so getting lucky on getting good neutral draws for early game.
I'd argue that SI: 7 Agents are needed too, but probably not as bad as the 3 cards I mentioned above. I main Rogue and Warlock in constructed too, and I find playing as Rogue the most fun (since I shamelessly run Mur-lock deck anyway for the occasional grinding). Perhaps it's just a lot of bad luck on my end in Arena.
Unfortunately in Arena right now, the boring Mage is auto-pick most of the time by people, including myself so it limits a lot of fun options for me. Since I cannot safely infinite in Arena, I have to pick the easiest class to run in Arena. My ranking goes like this (backed up with results too):
1. Mage 2. Paladin 3. Druid 4. Shaman 5. Priest 6. Warrior 7. Warlock 8. Rogue 9. Hunter
It's sad since I think I've played more Rogue games more than the last 5 classes I ranked, but I don't get good results at all. Although I still keep trying to see if I can get lucky. It's obvious that my top 5 are pretty easy to play in Arena since their AoE removal is easy to draft plus solid without a lot of class cards.

Missed the 4 claws hiding up at the top Yeah the games where I got claw+wrath +X is pretty much enough to get me through all but the strongest openings, and usually I could bank on drawing a swipe or starfall by turn 4/5 to thin out enemy minions to a manageable level, and slowly increment out minions with a barrage of spells to gain board control, and use that to take out the big guys. I could actually deal with most of the fast openings, it was the slow ones with lots of 3+hp creatures that really beat me up because I couldn't wrath for a card, and claw doesn't do enough damage.
The warlock loss was really sad for me though, knowing that 5 of the 13 cards left were either starfall or swipe, when it would've won you the game if you had gotten it any time in the last 3 or 4 turns really sucks.
Oh well, starting up a new run as mage. 3 arcane missiles, 2 wyrms & 2 frost bolts to secure early game, but no pyro, flamestrike fireball, poly or blizzard. 3-0 so far, but last game was tough against another mage. Dude had 3 fireballs and 2 flamestrikes, but luckily he used them all on the board and not my face.
As expected, lost to coin defias because I didn't have mana wyrm frostbolt at the ready and got too far behind without AoE to recover.
Man playing Mage without AoE or burn or hard removal REALLY sucks. Exercise in futility vs. literally any deck that can clear or field big minions. Pretty much have to win with my opening draw or I just get worn down despite having decent quality minions.
4/2 now. Barely eked out a win against a paladin even with T1 double mana wyrm>lucky arcane missiles.

I'm currently on a Deathwing run in Arena too with Shaman. Currently 3-0 . Having a good feeling about this. Tons of Spells too.

Did 11-2 with a weird warlock deck that had no soulfire, no fireimp but 3 murlocks (lol)... fun fact is that I almost always played 2 murlocks at once to buff them.
Then in the last game against a mage my connection failed =(... sad, I still dont have 12 wins as warlock.
At least when I got my prize I got a Cenarius :D

I disagree with this rank...
IMO Warrior is VERY strong on arena, since arena is mainly a board control game and weapons are very strong to achieve board control against neutral small/mid minions.
Rogue is strong as well... I dont think druid is that strong to be 3rd only because of swipe.
My arena tier would be:
1. Mage 2. Warrior 3. Paladin 4. Rogue 5. Priest, Druid, Shaman 8. Warlock 9. Hunter

this is the second time i get the 5 fire elemental! this is so imba!

holy shit, i never ever drafted a deck this imba:
+1 black knight
I'm going to rage myself to death if I go sub 10 wins with this deck.
