I take a break from playing BotW on my Switch after 3 weeks of not touching this game, to login, and see 2/3 Mage quests. And just as quick as after 4 games I see why I remembered why I've seldom play this game now and probably develop apathy towards shit experiences this game now provides
How on earth does both parties in a game find it fun when MC Tech works in such a large favour when playing it... a dice roll card. Oh btw this MC Tech was from a Murloc Shaman deck, which I knew something was fishy when my idiot opponent hero powers on his turn 3 and 4. But hey the last thing I should play around against a Murloc Shaman is MC Tech right? I already had a 2/1, 1/1, and a 5/5 on board, whats the harm of putting an Azure Drake on my turn 5... cuz my board would still be resistant to a lucky spell power roll and lightning storm (another card that would stupidly be added in a Murloc Shaman deck). Nah just play MC Tech and take the 50/50 of stealing either my 5/5 or my Azure Drake which ended my being stolen and denied me a potential lethal next turn. Next few turns opponent literally plays every card which included the summon 4 1/1 murlocs, had both of the everyfin is awesome, to kill me. Ofc I play a Mage deck that doesn't involve typical newbie AOE's like Flamestrike. It's so retarded when you lose to shit like this. I've played long enough to know against any murloc deck you clear the murlocs no matter what, and expect certain class cards here and there, but MC Tech being played and literally deciding the game in a clear 180 degree reversal... fuck this shit. Not even going to describe how shitty my other 2 games were, win and lose
Peace out boys, may the next expansion push every one to realize you don't need to be a slave to Blizzard and the sunken cost fallacy. Sooner you exit this game the better. Don't be like reddit and develop a constant "I love... I hate" relationship with this game

^ He most likely played the Deck recipe "Murloc Association" and was missing one of the cards. I know that the game suggests MC Tech as a sub because I´ve played it before. Im sure he just wanted to get a Murloc quest done, don´t hate on these players. I know myself how annoying grinding gold can sometimes be, especially when you need to win for them. But I can somewhat understand your pain. MC Tech can be annoying but for some classes (not Shaman tough) it´s the only form of "AOE" . But I think there are much more worse cards.
The trick is to just have fun. Watch some Day9 or Kibler and look how they do it. This has helped me personally to keep getting back on track and just have fun with the game. HS can´t be taken serious as a competitive game anyways. I still don´t understand why Tournaments have so high prize money. Day9 explained this quite well recently by saying the devs didn´t expect the competitive scene to get so big and just want to somehow support it. I will check for the video and post it here later.
But it looks like they are slowly distancing from OTK combos and too RNG dependent cards (like Rag or Sylvanas that are getting rotated out ofc not only for this reason) and this is a good sign I think. Sure there are still cards like Mayor Noggenfogger but at least he isn´t competitive like Yogg-Saron once was.
And since when are AoE spells noobish now? If you play Mage and don´t have AoE it´s a bit your fault. Unless you play something like Secret Mage.

Even though I pulled it off I still feel mad for my opponent. It's turn 10 and I am Jaraxxus with a 2/5 Darkshire Councilman and 2/2 Brann Bronzebeard. My hand is Power Overwhelming x2 (thanks Dark Peddler) and 6 other meaningless cards (well, Twisting Nether and Reno aren't meaningless usually lol) Opponent is at 18 life with a 5/6 Sylvanas. Top decked Power Overwhelming.
My Reno warlock deck played 12 damage from the hand for 3 mana using 3 copies of a card.

Please stop showing me how much gold I won before opening my arena rewards. It's depressing.

lol, I just lost to the following board clear:
Against a priest, he had gotten a Nexus Champion Saraad from a Firelands Portal he had gotten from a Cabal Courier. The one activation he got gave him a Blade Flurry that he used with the Ashbringer from a Drakonid Operative-ed Thirion What a RNG-Shitfest

That is putrid. Drakonid Operative is so strong.

i think i've had enough of this game until next expansion. pirate warrior is just fucking obscene. when you get the perfect draw but you cannot interact with your opponent's upgraded reaper, double korkron, mortal strike, and hunter hero power, so you lose, something is fucking wrong

Same with Thoughtsteal. I had a priest win an arena game due to hitting nuts from a Thoughtsteal

Hero power aside warrior has always had the strongest aggro core in the game(about 22 cards in pirate warrior are from the classic set sometimes more, rarely less) it's just been kept in check by the fact it falls "just" short of 30 cards, a problem Patches plus the few pirates in wotog fixed quite nicely. People forget because of how long ago it was but aggro warrior was a thing back when it was just the classic set too, it just got killed off by Sludge Belcher and zoo in nax so with those out of the way it only stands to reason warrior would return to being good at aggro.

honestly i would've started recording all my drafts and arena games a long time ago, especially mirror matchups if they didn't look like every other game ever
the differences in my drafts and everyone else's is fucking absurd - kabal courier, kabal chemist, ethereal conjurer while i'm forced to pick between arcane explosion, murloc tinyfin and priestess of elune
topdecked deathwing previous turn into topdecked kabal courier
+ Show Spoiler +
guess what the fucking courier gave?
+ Show Spoiler +
you win blizzard
you win
because i sure as fuck can't

After standard Warrior Aggro was not good until MSG though. Tempo Warrior was good, not Aggro. It was tier 3 at best until the release of Standard. I agree that Warrior has always had a good aggro package - all of the cards mentioned in the original post aside from Finley are Classic, not to mention Frothing, War Axe and so on.
It's a combination of the fact that the antiaggro decks (Reno Mage, Control Warrior, Control Shaman) which would usually beat it get totally blown out by the current midrange decks, while the patches/first mate early game can fight quite well against decks that would otherwise win by board control (like zoo). I wouldn't say that modern Aggro Warrior is all THAT good. It still has counters and a few decks that, statistically, go even against it. It's well positioned in the meta, but there are other good decks. Aggro Shaman seems like the best choice if you want to counter the deck. In terms of balance, by comparison Midrange Shaman in Karazhan was far worse - its only reliable counter was Freeze Mage, which has been pretty bad ever since Standard.
Pirate Warrior is just not a fun deck to play against. Not that Aggro has ever been fun to play against. I guess this is the first time that, since I have played the game, an Aggro deck has been the best deck. I would much rather play against Midrange Druid, Dragon Warrior, or Midrange Shaman, though.

Make Auctioneer increase the cost of spells by one after the first card Auctioneer draws each turn, with the effect ending when your turn ends. Or you could make him 5 mana and increase all spells by one. That seems kinda depressing when you're ready to play Gadgetzan and a 0 cost spell, and then you can't because him entering play increases the cost immediately.
As such, I went back to the more complicated version (I've rewritten this post a few times). It is also fits the phrase "where's my cut?"

They sent Conceal to the Hall of Fame over Auctioneer, but I still see him as problematic - especially in Jade Druid.

I played my Jade/Nzoth Rogue against a Warlock last night who ran Medivh (I'm not running any weapon destroy) and he was able to get off DOOM! and Twisting Nether with the staff up. I overcame an 8 mana & a 10 mana minion from an empty board state. I retook the game and was ready to win. Warlock plays Yogg-Saron - Yogg casts Mind Control TWICE - stealing my 8/4 Anubarak and a 4/4 Southsea Squidface who Yogg had given taunt. GG.

^ Sounds like a sweet deck tho

??????????????????????? Reminds me of the old Control warriors days.
Start with Ragnaros, Grommash, Brawl and mulligan all. Draw Sylvanas, Justicar and Alexstraza. Next three turns are Rag, Grom and literally anything unplayable until turn 6 or later.
It happened at least 5 or 6 times per 20 games.
I swear it's not random where in your deck the mulligans go. Cannot begin to even count how many times I have thrown a card and within 2 turns redrawn it.

Clap, Clap, Clap, my Brawl 'partner'.
I play a Darkfisher, Hearthstone spawns a Party Crasher and you naturalize my Darkfisher.
Here, take your concede and donkey hat.

It is seriously time to make Alexstraza be able to only target your own hero. It might as well read "Deal 15 damage"
