lucky guy! congrats!
-edit- :p

Grats. Not being able to play is literally killing me haha. I don't even know why, honestly I dislike how Hearthstone looks in terms of UI and the background etc, but it just seems like one of those games that I can relax with while doing Uni work and enjoy without dumping a bunch of money into
Hopefully I get a key/Hearthstone opens its doors soon, else i'll lose my mind

What a nice way to spend my day off. Fucking 5'n twitter and searching all over bnet for hidden keys.
I'm so mad I got tricked into joining this fucking key hunt. Only myself to blame, what a fucking idiot I am.. What a waste of a day.
Ohh well I give up, time to go eat breakfast/lunch/dinner since I skipped those.

Nothing, that's bloody what. So basically the entire thing is the marketing department's bright as hell idea to generate interest and hype and etc.
Good luck to people jumping through the hoops and going for the keys. For my part I'll just patiently wait for it to go open. Well... I did opt in but what the hell does that do anyway?
It is shifting this way with everyone jumping the steam early access train, having people pay to find bugs in your game. But the key point still remains of finding bugs and QA. And an EU beta is probably more important then an US beta as you need to test out the localization as already mentioned, which is extremely important for a card game, where you have to explain what something does in a few clear words. US people are lucky that it is a waste of money to localize the games from the start of development.

Fuck it, no more refresh and loop hoping for today, fuck them and their PR.

They really know how to please their customers when they keep building up hype when it's just a small giveaway where bots will grab all keys.
Edit: At least it's easy to find a guide on how to make a facebook bot...
|
|
glad i have to work so i don't have to focus on the fact that i haven't gotten a key ;_;

Looks like it will be at least 40+ days until open beta, since the facebook giveaway ends on october 14th.
And it looks like Blizzard is taking the "lets post keys on social media so bot's or people who f5 12 hours a day get them" route to inviting people..
So fuck this game, I'm gonna peace out from this bullshit. gj Blizzard, you lost a player who would have bought a lot of packs since I had several decks already planned out for constructed.
gg wp
Edit: And I wouldn't even be upset about not getting into the beta if say, blizzard just came out and said the game is getting released in two months, and they are inviting people from opt-in. But this false hope they are giving and making people f5 24/7 on twitter/facebook is fucked up.
|
How to manage expectations (Blizzard style):
Step 1: Don't.
There is no step two. May the best bot maker get another five invites and a few hundred bucks.
|
I dunno why people are saying bots are the ones picking up the keys. The giveaway hints were so weird, I don't think anyone has a bot smart enough to automatically crack the puzzles.

You're right about f5'ing 24/7 being fucked up. You should stop that.

I was talking about the super hyped giveaway on Facebook. It's probably true that the first giveaways were more about pressing F5 at the exact right moment and getting lucky. By now people should have had time to create bots that scan for new messages and automatically sends a pm when it happens.
The twitter ones are gone before you see the tweet anyway.

The "announcement to make everyone super happy" is them tweeting/posting on FB, then the first to respond getting keys. 1000 keys total over the next month.
You can also bet they would have announced the next (edit: large) opt-in wave with this if they had planned for it, which means it's unlikely to be before next Thursday/Friday.

There was a US opt-in wave a few minutes ago.
