They get a legendary card at the end of beta if they make a purchase at the store.

From my limited outsider look, it seems like Blizzard got a new hit. Making a very clean and very easy to access CCG video game was definitely a genius idea, because it's fresh to more casuals players, it's not really hard to make or to monetize, and it's the perfect thing to make when you're making your first steps in the F2P model.
Blizzard games perhaps lack depth these days, but they sure know how to make good games that will be attractive to a LOT of people.

none of them. every single person ive watched so far is horribad. i dont mean game knowledge about possible card combos and stuff, thats expected to be lacking since the game is so new. i mean that they all fail basic logical thinking, so that even in a 0 information situation they make the wrong move.
its painful.

it looks very addicting for some quick casual fun, but it completely lacks any social element, so i dont see how people are gonna choose to play this over other f2p titles out there where they can play with friends.
just as an example, you cant even chat to the person you are playing. only use the emote system to say 1/8 different things. they could just add a simple chat system and bam, its as social a game as any other.

People saying the game is simple compared to MTG etc, even though im sure magic was more a lot advanced when it first got released also, has it not continously become deeper\gotten new cards released all the time? So like a few years from now assuming blizzard keeps releasing new cards, it will have a lot more cards etc?

Trump for example is pretty good and online right now. Beside him, only Noxious is decent and maybe Rob Simpson

I actually don't view this as a negative, as I cannot imagine a time in the past 4 years where being able to chat against my opponents has been a good thing. BUT, it should still have full Battle.net ID support which is something I am excited for so I can keep in touch with all my online friends.
I suspect they'll probably flush out the battle.net friend integration (skirmishes, etc.) over time.

nope, thats already in game. you have a friendslist and can challenge them for a duel

After spending around $100+ on decks Reckful has some amazing cards.

but that just allows you to keep in touch with friends you already have. the number 1 social complaint in diabl3/sc2 is that its so hard to make new friends.

Is there any way to get into the beta other than hoping your bnet opt-in gets you a spot? I'd love to play.

Well, that's not really a problem about Heartstone. It's jus the infrastructure Blizzard put for their modern games that isn't good in its roots I feel.

Looks like another wave went out, I have a beta key in my email from this morning. If you haven't checked yet go do it now!
|
please give me a key, someone !! :D <3
|
Drat! Still no beta key. I would much rather have swapped my Desktop Client beta invite for this one

@Varanice
Sounds like you are more of a hardcore TCG player. Unfortunately, Hearthstone isn't really targeted for you

That sucks, I would have liked to see the best strategist win instead of the richest mofo that just follows a popular build.
Or you can just play the game and get cards through gold and unlocking them. No money needed.

What is up with the title of this thread? It is not a TCG, and it is not World of Warcraft.
I simply thought that it was silly.
