Googles business model (as in every product they ever created and will create ) is based on them owning your information in some way, by this I mean that it will stored on some remote server that can be accessed by google at any time and other people depending on access rights.
With this new system everything about your computer and what you store on the computer will be seen on the internet. Yes there will be usernames and passwords to assure that only you decide what people can view your computer, what you cannot decide is to make your computer strictly offline.
This would means that Google would have no idea of what you have on your computer thus their business model falls short. Do you really want everything on your computer to be accessable online with no option to take certain parts of the content offline?
The benefits is that your operative system becomes one with the internet, the backside is that it requires some very heavy antihack software to keep it secure.
Good or Bad? Who knows.
