Replaces: Pidgin Yeah, this can run all your favourite protocols and is more lightweight than Pidgin, Trillian and other multi-protocol IM software (for me it uses around 10 mb ram, while Pidgin used 30 iirc). Also, setting Miranda up was easier than Pidgin (I had trouble getting Cyrillic letters to display) It also supports a myriad of plug-ins and you can write your own. I even found a bnet chat plug-in for it. http://www.miranda-im.org/ Launchy Replaces: The Start menu Launchy is a free windows and linux utility designed to help you forget about your start menu, the icons on your desktop, and even your file manager. Launchy indexes the programs in your start menu and can launch your documents, project files, folders, and bookmarks with just a few keystrokes! Since I got this thing, I have only used the mouse for Starcraft, I think... Just press alt+spacebar, type the first two letters of the program you desire to use and press enter or type the name of a search engine, press tab, write your query and press enter and you have your shit running. http://www.launchy.net/index.html

If you doubt me, check out the Opera Widgits Page and then check out the Firefox Add-Ons Page. As you can see, there is a huge difference in content. You may be crying that "Add-Ons are useless" and that they "just slow things down" but items like 'Adblock Plus' and 'Customize Google' help you out enough to more than cover up for the little bit of speed boost that Opera provides. Besides, there are ways to improve Firefox speed as well (about:config has a lot of features people don't even know about). If you use Firefox without Add-Ons, you're a chum and should go with Opera. If you use Opera knowing about Firefox's ridiculous number of Add-Ons, you're a punk and should get your head checked. FireFox just sucks, unfortunately, addons or not. =)

Firefox user: redtooth describes what he thinks and gives alot of details and even links so you can check it out yourself. Also he tells you how you can improve ur FF. Opera user: Bluzman just says "Firefox sucks" LOL

@Opera; I use firefox only for the firebug and wdt addons, don't even bother with adblock or w/e it is. Opera has a lot less Add-ons but it has a built in IRC, and Adblock + loads faster, but this isn't a browser debate so.. ![]() My additions would be mainly web development related so..; -Filezilla; FTP client, -WAMP; Turns windows into a server -Notepad++; Makes your chosen language a lot easier to read -SUPER for converting for my iPod

Can run every FF script there is with a small edit or no edit most of the time because guess what some security problems that FF gets from its crappy addon feature opera blocks. "Opera is capable of running many Greasemonkey scripts. These are JavaScripts designed to work with the Greasemonkey enhancement for the Mozilla browser family. To tell Opera that a script file uses Greasemonkey notation, the name of the file containing the script must end with .user.js (all other .js files are assumed to be normal User JavaScripts). Scripts that use Greasemonkey notation are handled slightly differently (in order to be compatible with existing scripts):" Firefox + NoScript + AdBlockPlus >> Opera You know maybe you should ask more from your crappy FF to acutely include features you want into the browser native. Opera has a built in adblocker if you want to enable it http://operawiki.info/OperaAdblock "Content blocking Block images, pop-ups, and plug-ins you don't want. Right-click and choose "Block content" to selectively disable annoying elements. To make Web pages load faster, or to avoid offensive content, temporarily turn off images by pressing the image button. In Opera, smart pop-up blocking is turned on by default" ![]() Want noscipt that’s fucking not an add on disable javascipts, java and flash in your browser EVERYBROWER can do noscipt you idiots All no script does is does it for you like the idiot you are! Go though the options of the brower for once. Think opera is bloated well the install file is smaller than FF so suck it. Also think opera renders too slow go into the options and change the rendering wait from 1 sec to no wait. Yes most browsers will wait until a center % of the webpage is done as like for IE IE waits until everything but pictures are done. But for Opera you can change that wait for your slow clunky ass internet. But if you didn't know the only real noticeable difference in avg web browsing speed unless all you do is visit super long websites is the render wait. IE FF OPERA more or less loads a webpage at 100% at the same time. Only thing opera lacks is a great phishing detector it's the weakest out of the 3 but opera is the strongest overall security. Want to know who has the best phishing detector its IE8 so go suck it bitches IE isn't secure omg activex heretics well FF add ons are worse if the exploiting hacker community wanted to attack your ass. Guess want IE prompts you to install the activex so it's your fault got security holes fucking update your IE your fucking piece of shit that can't get shit done. Time vampires I swear.

Has tabbed documents, word wrap, etc. There's others like Slypheen and stuff but i dont actively use them so I cant really comment on them. Notepad++ also has features specifically to enhance coding. It's a very nice tool for HTML/CSS coders and things like that. (miranda supports xfire, what's up pidgin?) The only drawback is: It's not that user friendly, and takes a lot longer to set up than pidgin if you want it to look nice. But IMO it rapes pidgin and is completely worth the time.

But if you are a huge pain in the extra + in C++ Codeblocks All incompsing IDE equlivent to Visual Studio well not really Visual Studio is like a super duper sports car that can do everything code blocks is like the bargin bin sports car that is close enough unless your a pro. http://www.codeblocks.org/ On February 14 2009 03:40 TaP.Nuada wrote: Miranda IM is the shit. It's why i suggested pidgin but included miranda im in the discription i find more people will be happy with pidgin and more frustrated with miranda mostly becuase miranda is so ugly when you get it and pidgin comes with most plug ins that want worth to have installed. Personally i use Miranda just becuase of my keyboard and multi monitor set up i like custimise.

What happened to alt+f2? so this program has no use on either OS, lol
