1) PARTY 2) Still manages to be a sick party school and have decent academic standings (not great but w/e) 3) Huge campus/student body. Biggest campus in the country i think and 3rd most students. 4) Pretty fucking good at bball/hockey/football(okay not really lol) 5) Diverse (actually this is fucking annoying, all these stereotypical blacks and asians are fucking OBNOXIOUS) 6) Classes as easy or hard as you want them to be
CONS: 1) it will probably be super cold in the winter
Lol a lot of people like 5) haha. The winter IS cold but usually manageable but it seems like it gets colder every year (lucky me I get to go to WSU this spring where it gets WAY colder ) I think Ohio State has THE biggest campus/student body but we are def top 3.
Another reason to go here would probably be the study abroad program if you want to travel because we have the biggest study abroad program in the US (hence the many foreigners here). Our hockey and basketball are awesome (NC in hockey 2 years ago) and basketball is always a final four threat. But yea our football is only ok but it is taking steps forward (the OSU game showed we are not at big ten title step yet but Dantonio has a good recruiting class coming and he has a good attitude). Tailgaiting on campus is also very cool with great atmosphere and also people usually aren't dicks to opposing fans who come to tailgate as well.
As for academics, its pretty much like decaf said as you can give yourself really easy classes when your taking prereqs and stuff and you can have an easy major (packaging lol, but for some reason we have a really good program for that). Engineering and hard sciences are somewhat good except our nuclear physics which is ranked only behind MIT. Social sciences tho we have some really awesome stuff.
Cons can be the fact that its labeled a party school and we have a lot of students and some come here to party and sometimes they can be very annoying, although they are trying their hardest to tone down that label (much to the annoyance of students who do study hard and want to party sometimes). MSU also as decaf said not a "top school" (I think like 30ish in national rankings or something) so it doesnt have that top reputation as an undergraduate institution. some top grad programs tho.

University of New Haven
Pros: 1) Best Criminal Justice program on the East Coast, one of the best in the country. Google Henry C. Lee if you're interested in CJ, he's a big name here. I think he still teaches. 2) Many creative majors as opposed to the "usuals". Music and Sound Recording, Music Industry, Fire Science, Forensic Studies, Marine Biology. 3) The beach (The Sound) is not even a mile away. 4) New Haven party scene is mad close. 5) Can you say college town? Yale, UNH, Southern, Wesleyan and Quinnipiac U all hang out together. 6) Football's back. 7) Solid education here, and high job placement. 8) If our team ends up sucking, Yale Bowl is really close. 9) High international student population 10) Tons of financial aid (my financial aid is 32K) 11) Tons of babes, thanks to the beaches nearby. 12) Intern at ESPN 13) New Haven is also a good scene for shows 14) New York and Boston are really accessible from here 15) Greek. 16) Freshman Study Abroad 17) Living Learning Community: Room with people in your major and the entire floor is like that (Engineering, Music and Bio)
CONS: 1) 2 off campus shootings put us into lockdown in the past couple of weeks. 2) Yale's so close... 3) They accept way too many Freshmen, and we are all tripled 4) If you get Bethel, cry. 5) Some of the teachers suck.

Cons 1) HARKNESS 2) HARKNESS 3) HARKNESS

Ok, I might as well do one for Duke.
Pros:
1. Academics 2. Sports 3. Clubs for everything 4. North Carolina Weather 5. Alcohol flows like water 6. Greek life 7. Beautiful campus 8. Durham isn't as sketchy as it's made out to be 9. So many things to do on campus 10. You'll love it here
Cons:
1. No gaming community 2. Food isn't great 3. Math 102, 103, and 104 lolololololo suicide math classes. All hilariously difficult classes unless you're math people, but on the plus side, you get to choose between the three! Luckily, most majors don't require you to take higher than Math 31/32.
EDIT: Haha, this sounds like one of my old map reviews :D

university endowment / number of students = some excessively large number

Aren't those just the basic engineering calculus courses though?
It is not like they are unique to that campus or as if you can graduate with any natural science degree without vector calculus.

103's basically the engineering weedout for multivariable calculus, so you have hundreds of kids taking a horribly curved class = fail.
102's not that bad, it's multivariable calculus for econ majors, so more linear algebra, optimization emphasis. Same deal here, though.
104 is an actual linear algebra class that's essentially 100% proofs.
Actually, I hear maths 107 and 108 have easier curves (partial/ordinary diff. eqs.), so if you get past the weedouts, you're pretty much golden.
And they also come in "accelerated" versions that are just even more rofl.
EDIT: But still, a large majority of freshmen complain about Math 103.

Multi variable ain't harder than single variable calculus, it is just that it builds on the former which means that if you did not learn it properly you will get a hard time now.
Tips for those who thinks on going any type of science: Learn all the math you can properly, do not just learn how to pass the tests but learn what the math actually says.. Not to get math grades, grades are always easy to get, while getting a deep understanding for the math will save you a massive amount of time later.

I found out today that according to the Princeton Review website, Harvey Mudd is so awesome we managed to have a middle 50% range of 740-820 on our math SAT score.
I'm betting the people who calculated that got a 150 on their SAT...

Well Pittsburgh is pretty big a lot of students, stores, places to eat, and the two main roads Forbes and 5th pretty much take you anywhere you want to go.
Nice overall scenery, I think 100k+ students or so, pretty diverse student population in regards to ethnicity and background. Hard school at least in my opinion, library stays open until 2am and there's people studying here until the security guard kicked everyone out.
School has like 30 buildings overall so get used to walking from place to place. They have shuttle buses that take you from building to building if your not into walking, which are free for students. Also all public transportation for Pitt Students is free with your school ID to anywhere you want to go, save on gas. Buses also come around every 10 minutes so there's no long wait to get from place to place.
As far as partying goes, haven't done much of that, so can't give you any info. But Pitt has special events from time to time that you can go to and socialize. They had a UFO themed opera concert thing last week, was pretty interesting to say the least.
EDIT: Don't go to Penn State, tuition is cheaper at Pittsburgh and its basically the same thing.

You're forgetting the main thing here. PSU is way better at football.
