She's not jawdroppingly gorgeous, rather just average to me.

University of Ottawa
Go if you want... It doesn't really mean shit what University you go to in Canada. Only distinct advantage of going to Ottawa U is if you really want to take courses in French (everything is offered in both official languages). It's in the middle of downtown and there's not much trees or grass, so it's pretty dreary if that's important to you... But the transit goes directly to it... Really... if you live in Canada, just go to the University closest to where you live.
Protip: University is really easy, so don't stress out about anything. It's pretty hard to fail unless you're like... a complete retard who goes to midterms hung over... Applying and paying for University will be the hardest things you do in it, because you have to go thru such retarded beurocracy and it costs a tonne... But other than that it's no worries.

Just get a worse angle, a bit less makeup and voila:

1) PARTY 2) Still manages to be a sick party school and have decent academic standings (not great but w/e) 3) Huge campus/student body. Biggest campus in the country i think and 3rd most students. 4) Pretty fucking good at bball/hockey/football(okay not really lol) 5) Diverse (actually this is fucking annoying, all these stereotypical blacks and asians are fucking OBNOXIOUS) 6) Classes as easy or hard as you want them to be
CONS: 1) it will probably be super cold in the winter Lol a lot of people like 5) haha. The winter IS cold but usually manageable but it seems like it gets colder every year (lucky me I get to go to WSU this spring where it gets WAY colder ) I think Ohio State has THE biggest campus/student body but we are def top 3. Another reason to go here would probably be the study abroad program if you want to travel because we have the biggest study abroad program in the US (hence the many foreigners here). Our hockey and basketball are awesome (NC in hockey 2 years ago) and basketball is always a final four threat. But yea our football is only ok but it is taking steps forward (the OSU game showed we are not at big ten title step yet but Dantonio has a good recruiting class coming and he has a good attitude). Tailgaiting on campus is also very cool with great atmosphere and also people usually aren't dicks to opposing fans who come to tailgate as well. As for academics, its pretty much like decaf said as you can give yourself really easy classes when your taking prereqs and stuff and you can have an easy major (packaging lol, but for some reason we have a really good program for that). Engineering and hard sciences are somewhat good except our nuclear physics which is ranked only behind MIT. Social sciences tho we have some really awesome stuff. Cons can be the fact that its labeled a party school and we have a lot of students and some come here to party and sometimes they can be very annoying, although they are trying their hardest to tone down that label (much to the annoyance of students who do study hard and want to party sometimes). MSU also as decaf said not a "top school" (I think like 30ish in national rankings or something) so it doesnt have that top reputation as an undergraduate institution. some top grad programs tho.
is packaging in the engineering college? Do you have to take MSE 250? That shit is fucking gay.
|
I have no idea if packaging is in the engineering college or anything about related coursework for that stuff or what is required for it, all I know is that MSU is supposed to have a good program in that and that a friend of mine who was in packaging got offered a paid internship at anheiser bush for packaging. I was an Anthropology student :D Didn't you say you were going to MSU Sadist?

Yes im in Mechanical Engineering, all my classes are fine except for FUCKING MSE 250, its not even hard, but THERE IS NO TEACHING OR INSTRUCTION AT ALL, ITS TERRIBLE AND I HAVE A LAB DUE THAT I DONT KNOW HOW TO DO......God fucking dammit.
my TA is incompetent or just doesnt give a fuck, Its so annoying. Hes from China so I cant entirely trust what he says about something because he might have misspoken or something.
For example, my lab says theres a written portion due, but he said there wasnt, but can I really trust him? Of course not, he could have read it wrong or something. Its agitating as hell.

University of Hawaii at Manoa Pros -Good Engineering Program -Good Marine Biology Program(we are in the middle of the pacific) -Good Asian/pacific studies programs -Lots of Asians. Hawaii is majority Asian and the school reflects that. -Interesting culture. laid back and diverse. "Aloha Spirit" -good agriculture program -It's in Hawaii -Near the beach -Nobody honks their car horns EVER -pretty close to the city -fairly good financial aid
Cons -Fairly isolated. No road trips for us. -No Greek system -public transportation sucks -few parties -cruddy dorms right now except for the newest one(where I live). They're renovating the older ones so it actually isn't that bad anymore.
Also note that Hawaii is a Democratic state. Republicans make up only a small percentage of the population and government.

Wow... way to answer a question with another question....
My top possibly realistic choice (although I still don't know if i'll get in+get money) is Washington University in St. Louis. I'm also applying to the University of Denver. Anyone here go there or know anything about it? I live in Kansas City so St. Louis and Denver are both appealing for their drivabiity while not being too close. I'm also applying to Stanford/Princeton for some reason even though I won't get in because i'm not a motherfuckin' astronaut or anything like that or a leader for the future.
You?
edit: I was oblivious to my 2000th post It was the post before I made this one in some strategy thread. Now I am a dt though. I will find ray, and chop ray, and his armies will not be alerted because of my 1 hit kill capabilities. muahhahahha

+ Harvey Mudd is a fucken killer school for engineering (tied for #1 undergrad and also fucken hard) - the food i hear in Harvey Mudd is fucken horrific that my sister who graduated in 08 always bought from the nearby market or restaurants.
+/- social life consists of studying like fuck monday through thursday then partying hard friday through sunday. repeat
+ mascot is a Mudd brick
- being an alumni won't get you into the school
+ good starcraft community, my sister talked about some people who play semi-professionally there, day[9] i think..
+ graduating from Harvey Mudd gives you instant jobz no matter your GPA
------------
UCLA +++ shits on USC like a horse
reasons? if you insist..
+amazing academics (#2 public university behind Berkeley barely) +great food +Westwood is a great neighborhood unlike USC's which is highly dangerous and filled with muggings, rapes, stabbings +/- humongous campus (long walks to/from classes if you are unlucky) +even the shittiest dorms aren't that bad and the suites are like hotels - difficult to get into +generally buff athletics - usc rapes ucla football wise although i don't care for football that much +weather is great, the grass is green and the girls are pretty
