Edit: Why Quarantine when a virus is airborne lol This is what imdb.com has to say
Q. How did Anna get into Manhattan if the island was quarantined? A. While we do not know how the quarantine process was executed (possibly army/national guard troops), we can assume that 3 years following the deaths and/or mutation of 99% of humanity, the island is no longer being actively quarantined. One could easily hijack or build their own boat to gain access to Manhattan island.
The movie had tons of potential to be succuessful and they just fucked it up.
Oh and about the dog, I'm sure Will Smith strangled her after deseperate attempt of injecting vaccine in her which would have worked in over time.

Obviously the quarantined failed since the world is overrun by the disease. He let the infected woman die even though the cure was working because there was probably not enough room in the chimney. They probably quarantined without knowing the disease was airborne. Neville knew it was airborne, but he most likely didn't tell the other military officers in time.

Seriously, just read the book. I know everyone always says the book is better, which is usually true, and it is in this case. The theme of the book is incredible as well as how the title is derived.

aaaaaa Totally. SO mainstream. If you like movies that critics like you should probably just go mix yourself up a nice bleach cocktail. My favorite movie is The Slingshot by Åke Sandgren. Bet you've never heard of it! Know why? Because it's obscure and quirky. I'm a real movie fan, not like those mainstream assholes. Does it make you that much cooler? I only listed those movies because thats what the AVERAGE movie goer has seen or heard of. I'm not going to list off movies like Trainspotting, Requiem for a Dream, The Machinist, or Green Street Hooligans.
rofl, those movies are pretty damn mainstream as well

yes this movie had some inconsistencies, but it was a really good film none the less. i was worried for him when he was out in the dark, i was sad for him when his dog died, and i was pissed off when that chick lead the zombies to his house when he told her not to. for me, it's a 4/5. it got me involved, which is alot more than i can say for 99% of zombie flicks out there.
on another note, maybe someone can clear this up for me. when he injected the zombie female with the syrum, and she was returning to normal, but then flatlined, he injected her with something else (the virus?) which brought her back to life (with the elevated heart rate, presumably an evil zombie again). i don't understand why she died because of that syrum. if all the ice did was speed up the activation of the syrum then why would the syrum, in normal room temperature, kill the patient?

the movie really sucked. "why did you come here?" " 'cause god told me to."
oh, and she was able to convert him at the end
terrible

lol the thing that sucks a lot is all the horror movies I've seen lately are all about god and religion like: i am legend, the mist, silent hill, and I'm sure there are a lot more but I can't remember
although i am legend shouldn't be a horror movie in the first place but w/e, it's their decision

So what if they're about religion? I'm religious and it intrigued me, unless you're some anti-religious person who cringes when someone uses the "G" word
I don't think I Am Legend was a horror movie... if anything it was a Thriller//Drama. Horror usually has like 7-8 drunken teens who go to a house because it's what everybody does in their town once and 1 by 1 they go missing. These films usually include 3 women (one of which is a ditz, 2 are more normal, but one cries over everything until her head gets chopped off), and it usually contains 1 black guy (comic relief), usually none to a 1/2 of a jew, no asians, a computer nerd (the coin flip death character, b/c he usually has all the answers so he moves the plot along), an athlete (usually saves the girl at the end, usually the last to die), a sex-driven guy (fucks everyone, gets fucked first), and the professor//priest//doctor//teacher//etc who usually has some sick and twisted motives that make no sense.
I Am Legend had 4 characters during the post-quarantine phase, a boy, a mother, will smith (he's his own person, no category for him), and a dog. This is the difference between I Am Legend and a Horror Movie.

you know what was a better movie released around the same time as i am legend? no country for old men. 100% badass

Not all horror movies are about 7-8 drunken teens go missing one by one etc etc. That's where you and I have differences of opinions. The original book wasn't even about religion and there was no point of inserting (plus zombie like creatures) it in the movie either. It totally drives away from the concept of the original theme.
I'm not gonna try to argue with you about religion b/c it's pointless.

the problem with 300 is that it is visually stunning but everytime a character says something i burst out in laughter.. cheesiest movie ive ever seen. i know it's supposed to be like that but why did they have to exaggerate that much :>

I noticed a fresh bowl of apples in Smith's homebase. There must have been an orchard that he takes care of, with all the wild animals around...Or maybe he just picked it up from a local supermarket, 3 years ago?
Smith as a Colonel chooses the worst firearm to carry around for the kind of encounters he'd expect, and he uses what he carries in a totally retarded fashion. Not to mention the use of explosives, uncontrolled ones at that around the house is the single dumbest decision (from the point those explosives are planted I suppose) in the movie.
I'm always pissed at the portrayal of 'scientists' in movies. It is just not realistic and their methods appear random. My HS science experiments were more focused and controlled.
